## **Chairman's Report & Accounts 2020 - 2021** 

I am honoured to be the Chairman of Siiboo for another year and I am pleased to be remaining in office for the year ahead. I would like to thank the trustees for their continuing support throughout this past year and also for their dedication and commitment to the charity, its aims and objectives. 

I would like to thank our tight knit and very dedicated Gambian team for their continued support. Each one of our Gambian team gives up so much of their own time to ensure our projects remain on course and succeed as well as identifying areas where they think we could help. 

Work has continued to develop the new school build and I'm pleased to report that the first two of the three classrooms should be completed very soon with plans in place to raise the revenue needed to build the third. 

The bakery build was completed and the process of recruiting a baker and baker's boy is now well under way.  For the first time in a very long time there will be a working bakery in the village of Bakindik giving the residents easier access to their daily bread.  Moreover, with the profit from the Bakery being used to subsidise teachers wages the first step of making the whole project self sustainable will have been achieved. 

Looking ahead to the year ahead every effort will be made to advance the school build project. A third classroom is needed as well as a new toilet block,  boundary wall, the instillation of solar power and water supply.  With so much still needed the Trustee's have a busy year ahead raising the funds to push the project forward but I am without a doubt that the goals we set for the year ahead will be achieved as they have in the past. 

I know I speak for all the Trustee's when I say that we extremely proud of what's been achieved in such a short space and none of this would have been possible without the support we receive from North West Cumbria and specifically the Copeland and Allerdale districts.
