HNF Background:
The Help Nepal Foundation was created immediately in the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake in Nepal in by a group of Nepalese based in London. The earthquake of this magnitude was unprecedented in Nepal, along with the number of deaths, injured and those left homeless. These figures were truly saddening and shocking. Equally shocking were the delays in immediate rescue and relief reaching the victims, and the lack of overall co-ordination with logistics and distribution.
What the crisis has shown is the remarkable efforts of Nepalese, home and abroad, mainly lead by the youth. The ones abroad have been continuously fundraising and sending aid to Nepal. The ones in Nepal have tirelessly helped with rescue, relief and clean-up operations.
The Help Nepal Foundation is primarily created to ensure this momentum continues, and to collaborate with other like-minded organisations and people to ensure Nepal can be rebuilt, for a better and brighter future.
Activities:
During Covid-19, HNF donated £580 to a charity in Nepal, Rastriya Awiskar Kendra to help fight the pandemic.
