Ask Erwin aims to support people to understand their health & care rights and have a voice.

Ask Erwin wants to support people to be more informed and involved in decision making around their health and support needs. This can be particularly important to people with a disability, long term health needs or older people.

Ask Erwin will support people to understand and use for their benefit; in particular the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the Ask Erwin will achieve this though providing information and support public benefit in relation to services. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Ask Erwin’s information and help service provided support to people in relation to their health and social care needs and in particular information around Lasting Power of Attorneys.

Ask Erwin runs a support help service via telephone and email helpline.

We are currently looking to expand our Brain Tumour support services and are looking for further funding. This period the focus has been providing support to the public through our helpline and email service to understand Lasting Power of Attorneys in terms of what they are, how they work and how to complete them.

We also provides further tailored 1:1 support with the option of visiting our office for a face to face session to support the completing of the LPA documents, Advanced statement to refuse treatment and other wider care planning approaches.

We also provide workshops to raise awareness and understanding of LPAs and how to complete them.
