Ask Erwin aims to support people to understand their health & care rights and have a voice.
Ask Erwin wants to support people to be more informed and involved in decision making around their health and support needs. This can be particularly important to people with a disability, long term health needs or older people.
Ask Erwin will support people to understand and use for their benefit; in particular the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act. Ask Erwin will achieve this though providing information and support services. This will be a combination of public workshops, closed support groups and 1:1 support. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary of the main Ask Erwin continued its work as a partner in the Lambeth Advanced Care activities undertaken for the Panning Consortium. As a lead partner we continued in year 3 of the public benefit in relation to project providing these objects (include within - this section the statutory 1:1 support to clients to make Health & Welfare Lasting Power of declaration that trustees have Attorney - had regard to the guidance Training sessions to the public and partner organisations on issued by the Charity Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney - Commission on public Providing safeguarding support to consortium partner benefit) organisations Now that COVID restrictions are lifted Ask Erwin was able to do more outreach in person workshops and referrals for the 1:1 service increased as home visits and office visits were now possible in the new accessible office space. Ask Erwin provides no harm or detriment to the public. The trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit. Ask Erwin offers some of its services to the public in general and some of its services specifically to people with protected characteristics.

Summary of the main Ask Erwin’s information and help service provided support to people in achievements of the charity relation to their health and social care needs and in particular information during the year around Lasting Power of Attorneys. Worked with Consortium to provide information to the National Lottery Community Fund to extend the project due to being unable to provide full services during COVID Ask Erwin was invited to be part of the Ministry of Justices consultation and review and trailing of the Lasting Power of Attorney online process and documentation. Ask Erwin has attended the consultation meetings throughout the year as well as being interviewed and trialling the beta service and providing feedback
