|---|---|---|
| Ask Erwin aims to support people to understand their health & care rights and have a voice. Ask Erwin wants to support people to be more informed and involved in decision making around their health and support needs. This can be particularly important to people with a disability, long term health needs or older people. Ask Erwin will support people to understand and use for their benefit; in particular the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act. Ask Erwin will achieve this though providing information and support services. This will be a combination of public workshops, closed support groups and 1:1 support. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ask Erwin continued its work as a partner in the Lambeth Advanced Care Panning Consortium. As a lead partner we continued in year 2 of the project providing - 1:1 support to clients to make Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney - Training sessions to the public and partner organisations on Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney - Providing information and support on safeguarding to the consortium partners However, COVID continued to impact on the consortium and Ask Erwin’s ability to provide the service for the majority of this reporting year. Even when the country was not in lockdown it was still not possible to visit clients to provide the service or to run workshops. Additionally the cohort group were understandably impacted with wider concerns around covid meaning attending workshops and focusing on making a LPA were not high on peoples agenda. We did provide the service to the few people who were referred in this period and could manage with virtual appointments. We did also provide virtual training sessions to partner staff and some of their clients . Ask Erwin also provided in this period a telephone and email helpline to support people to understand and access their health and social care rights. Ask Erwin provides no harm or detriment to the public. The trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit. Ask Erwin offers some of its services to the public in general and some of its services specifically to people with protected characteristics. |

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main Ask Erwin’s information and help service provided support to people in achievements of the charity relation to their health and social care needs and in particular information during the year around Lasting Power of Attorneys. Ask Erwin continued working as a partner in the Lambeth Advanced Care Planning Consortium Ask Erwin reviewed its current policies and its COVID procedures COVID lockdowns and limitations on being able to visit clients due to their vulnerabilities severely impacted on Ask Erwin’s ability to provide support to many people in this reporting year. We continued to provide workshops and training on LPA to partner organisations and to their clients virtually. We were however only able to offer 1:1 support to people who were able to access internet – which meant that a large number of the target group referrals work had to be suspended as this was referrals of people with dementia and other cognitive impairments meaning that providing support virtually was not possible due to consent issues
