Allegra’s Ambition works in partnership with a small number of carefully vetted charities to deliver a range of projects that support young, disadvantaged people through participation in sport and outdoor activities. Each charity we work with is chosen because its aims closely align with our goals and because Allegra’s Ambition’s involvement adds real value. We are committed, wherever possible, to supporting projects on an ongoing basis and work closely with our partner charities to build relationships over time. All our partners have proven track records, are well-established, well-governed, low risk and employ dedicated, expert and inspirational staff. Volunteering is a central part of our charity. Allegra’s Ambition actively supports all our fundraisers and encourages volunteering within our partner organisations wherever possible. Allegra’s Ambition is currently working with a number of charities in London and the South of England, united by a common goal, to support vulnerable young people and make a real difference to their lives. ## **Financial Review** During the year, Allegra’s Ambition raised £31.080. Total expenditure made by Allegra’s Ambition on projects and expenses amounted to £62,862. Of this amount, direct donations comprised £62,759, the cost of merchandise comprised £nil and administration fees (for postage of merchandise, website host, bank charges, CAF & Just Giving fees and other fundraising expenses) comprised £103. 53,883| |---|---| page 3 **Report of the Trustees (continued)** ## **ALLEGRA'S AMBITION** ## **Our Charity’s Achievements and Performance** During the year, **Allegra’s Ambition** continued to support and develop relationships with a number of charities. **Carneys Community Centre** (https://carneyscommunity.org/): We have had a long standing partnership with Carney’s which is a boxing club that aims to reduce offending, re-offending and anti-social behaviour, while improving social mobility and community cohesion. The services are targeted at disadvantaged young people aged 11-30 from deprived backgrounds in Wandsworth. Their work is focussed on building self-discipline, self esteem, confidence and employability of young people as this is the key to reducing offending. The charity engages around 600 people each year. **Ebony Horse Club** (https://www.ebonyhorseclub.org.uk/): Ebony is a riding centre in Brixton, London which teaches inner-city children, including some very vulnerable young people, to ride and offers respite from their lives. Every year we invite Ebony to bring a group of young people to Hampshire to enjoy a day of riding in the countryside using horses volunteered by the HH pony club and others. Ebony describe the event as “possibly our biggest of the year and for some of our young people, their first time outside of London seeing the countryside”. **Greatwood** (https://www.greatwoodcharity.org/): We have recently began a partnership with this charity which uses animal assisted intervention to work with young disadvantaged people. We supported a project for a group of Young Carers from Youth Action Wiltshire to attend a day programme at the centre. **Jamie's Farm** (https://jamiesfarm.org.uk/): We agreed to fund an apprenticeship scheme at Jamie’s Farm in 2023. Jamie’s Farm was established in 2005 and aims to transform lives through their unique residential programme built around their core elements of Farming, Family, Therapy and Legacy. Delivered via a five-day residential and rigorous follow-up programme, it is designed specifically to improve wellbeing, boost engagement, improve behaviour and develop essential life-skill such as communication and self-awareness. The week also provides valuable professional development for visiting teachers who return to school with renewed relationships with their young people, and tips and skills to sustain the changes back in the classroom. **Magdalen Farm** (https://magdalenfarm.org.uk/): Magdalen Farm offers residential, day and field trips, environmental education, care farming and other group or family activities on an organic working farm in Somerset. We again funded residential trips there in 2024 for Street Reach, Youth Options and Kids on Track, as well as a group of unaccompanied young asylum seekers. **Street Reach** (https://www.winchesterstreetreach.org/): We continued with our funding for The Friday Football project. This provides a drop-in ‘kick around’ activity for young people in Winchester and, as well as playing football, there is the opportunity to talk to trained youth workers and get advice and support. For a second year we funded a project preparing young people for a residential trip to Magdalen Farm. We also provided 50% funding to support a new weekly youth club at the charity’s headquarters in Winnall, the remainder being met by the City Council. This has been a great success. **Winchester Sports Centre Outdoor Gym Project** : We have been in discussions for some time with the City Council about installing an outdoor gym next to the newly-opened Sports Centre at Bar End. We have signed an agreement and commissioned plans for the gym. The costs incurred in 2024 will be fully refunded by the Whittome Family. **ALLEGRA'S AMBITION** Charity Registered Number page 4 1161667 ## **Independent examiner's report on the accounts** for the year ended 30 September 2024 I report on the accounts of Allegra's Ambition for the year ended 30 September 2024 which are set out on pages 5 and 6. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, - to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner's statement.** My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. ## **Independent examiner's statement** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: - (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act and - to prepare accounts which accord with accounting records, comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or - (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
