Objectives and aims

2

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

Our main objective for the last financial year ended ensured that our services were delivered to our client group and continued to strengthen our client group and building relationship with similar organisations working with refugee communities . During the year end we faced many challenges with that affected most of our user group, however we continued with optimism and creatively supporting most of our clients those affected in many ways, especially most who had not been able to fully participate due to the effects of longterm Coivd-19.

Over the year we have had to re-think how we continue to meet the needs of our community and we can’t fail to mention that our life line in the year was the funding received from The National Lottery Community Fund which enabled us to build resilience to seriously vulnerable members of our community and we were able to continue reducing their social isolation widening their contact with others as well as ensuring that they feel connected even during the unfolding of uncertain times.

Through the Numba Kumi Initiative well over 1800 people benefited an increase compared with previous years’ we were able to capture ideas and thoughts from our members during the year end and look forward to building on them to enhance wider participation especially to our male group, which increased by the year ended.

Partnership work

Partnership Work with other community organisations continues to be at the forefront of our work and in the year ended we continued to collaborate with other like minded refugee organisations locally and in other regions to share and learn new things.

BARNET MIGRANT REFUGEE FORUM TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH 2022

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the end of the year and of the surplus or deficiency for the year then ended.

In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies, as described on page 6 &7, and then apply them on a consistent basis, making judgements and estimates that are prudent and reasonable, the members of the Board must also prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the charity, and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charites Act 2011. The Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations and the provisions of trust deed.

The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.
