Objectives and Activities
The primary object of The Charity is to provide a transport service for people living in or close to the Chiltern
Hills who have mobility problems and are unable to drive or use public transport. We will continue to achieve
thls by ralslng funds for, and workinE alongside The Chiltem5 0ial-a-Ride Ltd (The Society)
a charltable
community benefit society. which is the principal provider of this service in the area.
Achievements and Performance
The year has seen demand for these transport services continue to recover frotn the low levels seen during the
Covid pandemic and are now above pre-pandomic levels. Hence there is a continuing need to raise finance to
support the service. The SL5bstantial funding arrangement negotiated by The Charity with The National Lottery
in 2022 has continued and has been generously increased by a further £43,000 to help The Society cope with
their increased costs due to recent inflationary pressures. The remaining funding will be paid over by the
National Lottery to The Charity in instalments over the next 2 years, and The Charity will pay it over to The
Society as and when they pay the wages to their Staff. A mutual indemnity agreement has been drawn up by
both organi5ations to ensure the fund5 are used as intended by the National Lottery.
