Contribution made by Volunteers
We are grateful for the many hours volunteers
including membervolunteers have spent listening
and encouraging and supporting our members.
Without this valuable contribution of time, energy
and expertise we would have not been able to
achieve so much. We are in particular gratefulfor
the continued support of Volunteers with the
refurbishment project of our regular meeting venue
and the manning of Exhibition stands at events.
Our Volunteer Secretary, with Business

Achlevements and performance
Summary ofthe main achievements Otthe
charity during the year
Our two monthly social events at our own Veterans,
Room are continuing to be popular and are firm
nd
events in the calendartaking place on 2 Friday and
3" Monday of each month.
We have been able to make our Veterans room
available to other regimental Associations who are
struggling to find meeting pl8ces of their own. This
has brought the Sheffield City Region's Veterans
Community closertogether.
Our Free Garden Service for Veterans has proofed
popular, with referrals being received by other
agencieslcontacts.
We have experienced a need for increased pastoral
care. and have provided support to Veterans with
visits. telephone support, as well as providing
transport to medical appointments as well as
transport to our events to combat loneliness. We
have accesstofreewheelchair loans, which enabled
us to support a number of Veterans this year.
We have been working more closely with the
Sheffield Communtty Covenant Partnership B08rd,
hosted by the Sheffield City Council, with a number
of public representatives such as the NHS 8nd other
Ch8rities providing care and support to Veterans.
The Charity has been exhibiting ata numberof public
eventslFairs in Sheffield, r8ising awareness of the
Charity's work. New marketing material have been
commissioned to support this awareness r8ising

campaign. The participation 8t those events has
resulted in a consRderable uptake of new Veterans
engaging with the Charty and also resuLted in new
members.
We held 8 successful VE80 and HMS
Sheffield/Falkland event in May. in Novemberwe
org8nised ourAnnual Remembrance event, and in
December, we used our Veter8ns' room for the first
time to organise a Christmas gathering, which was
open to all Veter8ns and appreciation was noted by
all.
Our plans to introduce a financi81 coding system for
Income and Expenditure has been successful. which
allows closer financiaL monitoring as well 88
reporting to Trustees and Members at regular
intervals.
We have introduced more frequent Communication
by dedicated regular newsletters as well as
communicating via our Social Media Facebook
Group.

Future Plans
W?th the increase of pastoral care. we need to look at increased support from Trusteesivolunteers
to act upon the need we are experiencing.
For longerterm planning, we are lookingto appoint new Trustees who bringvalue and experience to
the Charity. as well as looking to address the gender imbalance within the Charity's Trusteeship.
