The Okl Testsmenl Names Project aims to study personal names from the Old Test8ment and
from th& Ilma (the second and flrst millonnia BC) and placè lthè Lèvantl of Okl Testament
history. The Old Testsment names datsbase has had over 6(Kl new texts added to it and each
Indlvhyual namè has baen subje(* to rigofOUS and detsiled analysis. Two 8rtides have bgen
published on Amorite names. Work on the Covenant Code from Exodus 21-23 and its
relationship lo Mesopotamia were also published. Dr Kaspars Ozolins Completed an arbde
based on th& possib￿ brother of Golialh from 8 texl-cnti¢al approach to the study of rsames. Dr
Caleb Howard publlshed a paper considerlng law in the thlrd millennium BC. and a further
artide consisting of 8 prèviou3ty unpubhshed first-mrflennium BC Assyrian inscription froTn the
North West Palace ICalkh}. The Old Testam&nt Team have also delNered papefs at The
Evangelical Theolo3i(zl Soriety Conference and the Society for Biblical LiteraknTe in
November 2021.
We are eonllnuing rèsearch on the Greek New Testsment and Dr Dlik Jongklnd has confjnued
to make progress towards the publicatlon of a New Testament Textual Commentary. He has
also carried out preliminary WOTk on a second edition ofthe Greek New Tèstsmonl, p8ying
particular attontH)n to the study of text41elimitatiorffj.
Research oo the Codex Climaa Rescnptus, a 292-page pallmpsest from the fifth and six
centuries has continued. Dr PeteT Williams has focussed on astronomic leaves, Dr K*n Phlllips
transcribing and anatysing Christian A¥amaic malerial, and Dr Poter Malik (research partner)

£389,819 and an increase in restricted funds of £1,990. Major factors In the Increase In
dèsignated lunds were the transfers 01 £514,782 and £73,540 from the General Fund to th

supporters in the Unf(gd Stat88. Further details of the movements on designated and restricted

bodies and individuals. 18% of general donation income came from one UK based chariiy and

Total income for the year was below that of the previous ye8r by 41)%. The maln reason for

scheme that is now closed but was subject to an unfunded p&nsion liabilty. Under an ￿re8meTht ￿(ween
￿nsIOn scheme 2nd parbcipating ém ￿)y$r$, oa¢h participating employer was making d￿r￿lt reduction
payments for the peTtod up to 30 June 2026 at the annual rate of l 1.8% of pensionable $818ry. The
charity'5 liability under this agreement had t￿n computed on a discounted cash fiow bas15 using a
discount rate of 4.5%. On 30 June 2020 the above member of staff left the charity's employment and the
charty'5 liabilty to the scheme crystallised at a value of £70,300 which was pavj in full in October 2020.
