During the 23-24 financial year TWP completed the second iteration of
the Latinx Youth Theatre. The project had the following outcomes for
the 110 Young People that engaged:

The project has since grown to be a charity in its own right and is
running the next iteration of the project with Matthew Schmolle acting as
consultant and Trustee.
**THE CAPTAIN AMAZING BURSARY**
The Working Party supported Marina Cusi Sanchez, an immigrant artist
selected from 36 responses to an open call-out, to work on a
professional production of CAPTAIN AMAZING by Alistair McDowall.
She received:
- one to one workshops with the creative team of the play
- support in developing her own piece
- one to one workshops with the producer of the play on fundraising and
theatre management
- space to rehearse
- space to conduct a scratch performance of her own piece
- an honorarium to acknowledge the time she spent on the work
Since the bursary the piece she developed has toured across the South
of England and she cites the bursary as central to that success_._| ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** **The Working Party Trustees Annual Report** 3 YE 31[st] Mar 2024 Overall 23-24 was a period of hiatus and reflection with the decision being taken that the co-founders would reflect on the future of the charity, as its current formation and drive was not considered sustainable. Matthew Schmolle attended a conference on the subject of co-creation and undertook personal research to try and conceive of a new way forward. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; In early 2024 he submitted to the board that he would like to create more concrete benefit to underserved communities and individuals within the arts, and the first step to this was to create a bursary on a professional production to support an early career artists to improve their work. - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main LYT 22/23 achievements of the charity** LYT continues to be of great support to the Latin American community in **during the year** terms of their engagement with the dramatic arts and will transition to be its own organisation in the next iteration as our support period of it is now concluded. We are proud of the improvement overall engagement of the project. We have developed a relationship with the Young Vic, members were invited to deliver community workshops at Brixton House and to work with Jennifer Jackson on the R&D of her new show at The Barbican. These are movements towards greater recognition and opportunity in the industry for LatinX YP and the project. We have also had much greater success in actively engaging parents & community members this year. A group of 4 parents came together to provide catering for our final sharing. We have also addressed directly learnings from the previous iteration regarding improving recruitment, improving family buy in, moving to 1 week intensive at the end and pushing the bilingual delivery. This was the aim of the Creative Associates programme launched in COVID. At the time of the writing they have secured their own funding for the project and are middelivery on the next year of the project.
