The main focus for our organisation in 2024 was on further strengthening relationships with British, Polish and European institutions. The key activities were: On Saturday 4th May, Zjednoczenie Polskie commemorated the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino in the Houses of Parliament. In attendance were representatives of both Polish and British governments together with social and cultural organisations, as well as other guests of honour. The Pilsudski Institute, together with the Institute of National Remembrance, prepared an informative exhibition alongside the commemoration. To advance, for the public benefit a) Diversity, citizenship and community development by promoting a better understanding within British Society of the Polish Community and of its cultural heritage; b) Education by promoting the learning of the Polish language; c) Polish culture, literature, art, music, history, heritage and traditions by organising events; d) Relief in need of members of the Polish community by the provision of advice, support and information or in any way required and by engaging with service providers, public bodies, institutions and organisations to enable those entities to better adapt their services, policies and activities to the needs of the Polish community; e) Social inclusion of members of the Polish community by developing the capacity and skills of members of that community to assist them to integrate with and participate more fully in society.

1. General information

The charity is a public benefit entity and a registered charity in England and Wales and is unincorporated. The address of the principal office is Federation of Poles in GB, 238-246 King Street, London, W6 0RF.

2. Statement of compliance

These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland', the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Charities Act 2011.

3. Accounting policies

Basis of preparation

The financial statements have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis.

The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.

Going concern

There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue.

Disclosure exemptions

The entity satisfies the criteria of being a qualifying entity as defined in FRS 102. Its financial statements are consolidated into the financial statements of (enter name of group financial statements) which can be obtained from (enter detail). As such, advantage has been taken of the following disclosure exemptions available under paragraph 1.12 of FRS 102: No cash flow statement has been presented for the company. Fund accounting
