ensuring a good frt, molching volunteer molivolion with the needs of our parliciponts.

The purchase ol Poth Lone Stables in Teddinglon wos completed ot the end 012021. This enabled Ihe chority
lo hove its own pemonent home following Ihe teminotion ol the leose from the previovs owner. All involved
with the charity remoin incredibly grolelul lo the donors, notobly porticipanls ¥) the successful crowdlunder,
who mode ils pvrch05e possible.
Ihe propety ilsell required refurbishmenl. ond. in keeping with the recognition that the stables ore lo remain
our long-lem home, Ihe Irvslees embotked on on ombilious plan lo ienovole them. Al the lime of purchose.
the propety was designated by Richmond Councli os o Building of Townscope Merit. Considerable efforts
were mode to produce o plonning opplicolion for the renovolion. which wovld imp(ove the use of spoce for
both ovr users ond horses. while significontly enhoncing ils ou￿ard oppeoronce and comp￿Ing with onerous
planning requirements. In Ihe process. the bungolow adjacent to the 51ables hos been converted lo provide
odditional stabling for the horses ond a multipurpose room for general use. including the provision of
covnselling ond equine theropy seNices.
Thi5 intensive refurbishment progromme was conducted against a posl.COVID env*onmenl ol high demond
wilhin the conslnjclion industry ond escololing building cost5. We are therefore delighted to report that the
project wos completed olmosl on schedule ond. wilh Ihe benelit of some further donations, within our
financial resources.
The return lo our home bose in the svmmer of 2024 was o huge step lor the chorily - enabling us lo convert Ihe
former coltoge into the "cuddle horse" sloble, o communify room attoched lo the cuddle sloble. o theropy
room ond o lully occessible toilet. The site comprises six Ivrther slobles.
Our return to Teddinglon required Ihe hofses to be occlimolised gioduolly lo Iheir new surroundings, including
walking on roads lo reach nearby Bushy Pa￿ - although those who had been previously stabled ol Pork Lane
often showed Ihal they remembered their former suThoundings.

For Ihe first fovr monlhs of Ihe year, Pork Lone Stables operated from o temporory home ot man￿ Form in
Petersham TWIO Iwilhin the London Borough ol Richmond upon Thomesl, whilst we compleled the mojor
refurbishment project ol our home slobles in Teddinglon. We were extremely grotelul that the temporory
relocolion lo Manof Fom enobled us lo provide continuity of our services tor the Ihree yeots thot we
operoted from Petershom.
During the yeoi June 2024 lo Moy 2025, the charity provided 6.506 sessions to 825 porticiponls. representing on
increose in the overoge number of sessions per participont lo almost eight. This increase demonslrotes Ihe
enlhusiosm of ovr F)articiponls, while also enabling us lo help them further develop their skills within the scope
of their polenlial capabililies. The number ol sessions piovided was comporoble lo Ihol of Ihe previovs yeor,
ofter ollowing for the days losl during the wind-down and Ironsrfion of our operations from Pelershom to
Teddinglon.
Notobly, the nvmber of eqvine theropy sessions we offered in our purpose-buill facilities al Teddinglon
increosed from 21 in the previovs yeor to 141. This demonslroles Ihal Ihere is o growing demond for the
benefits ot activities oround horses, which do not nece55arily enloil horse riding or carrioge driving. Once
ogoin. we were able lo offer over l(y) porticipan15 Ihe opportunity lo toke port in corriage driving, proving its
popvlarily not only to wheekhair useis bul o wide range ol participants.
We conlinue lo monitor the demogrophics of our porticiponls. The disobililies and needs of our participants
cover o brood speclrurri ranging from developmental lo phy5icoI, leaming dilficullies. visual and audilory.
whilst some have mental heollh or social issues. Around hall of our participants are between the oges of 8 ond
15 yeors old. bul we hove porticiponts of all ages. with some 10 per cent being up lo 7 yeors old ond 15
porticiponls being over 75 yèors old.
Arovnd 60 per cent ol our participonls come trom Richmond ond Hounslow, but a slightly increased
percentage this yeor come from svffounding oreos of west ond southwesl London. as well as Surrey. Their
backgrovnds cover o wide range ol elhnicilies.
A survey wos conducled amongst parents ol participonls during the yeor to evolvafe performance. 98 per
cent stoled that their child enjoyed the se55ion5 and over 90 per cent confirmed Ihol there had been an
improvement in each of their child's mental heollh and wellbeing. their behoviour and relotionships. ond Iheir
confidence and fesilience. In oddilion, 87 per cent sold thol there hod been on improvement in their child's
sociol ond commvnicalion ski115, and 84 per cent conlimed an improvement in their child's physicol/core
slrenglh.
The chority ha5 not been imrnune from Ihe rising c0515 ossocioled wilh running a slobles. It con be seen Irom
the Accounts Ihol we recorded o modest suiplus for this yeor. thanks lo contributions from participanls or their
nders ond the generosity ol other donors to whom we ore incredibly grolelvl. Mole generolly, the chorily is
indebted lo Ihe mony volunleers who willingly give ol Iheif lime ond experience in sUPPOrting our oclivilies.
Highlightslochievements
The team compleled the long-owoiled move bock lo ils Teddinglon home in Pork Lane, re-eslabli5hing ￿nkS
with the local oulhority, community. ond the Royal Parks managemenl responsible for Bushy Park which
involved months of work ond planning. We mode o staged relurn lo Pork Lone. with the highest regord lor the
wellore of the horses and how Ihey would respond to the move bock lo o semi-utbon setting. We olso oimed
lo minimise the number of sessions losl with participonls, as evidenced by our monagemenl of over 6,XKI
sessions in the year.
Reluming to ovr community, we were immedalely able to begin new initiatives Ihot were pr8ViOUS
impossible lor vs. maknng full use ol the new community spoce in our refurbished stobles. These included:

experience ol equine competilion in o sUPPOrtive environment.

Greot Port. os well as the London Intemolionol Ho￿e Show, where we orgonis8d on 8Xtremely well-received
choir perfomance at the Event.
Poth Lone Slobles won the RDA colegory ol the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Our coaching leom were also
involved with the winning Driving lor the Disobled Closs.
We ore alwoy5 looking for new partnerships
last year these included hosting visils from AIM RDA, which hos
led lo collaboration betwèen thé two groups. and visils to Windsor Carriages lo carrioge drive ond discuss
possible onnuol colloboralion for those wishing to experience corrioge driving in Windsor Greol Pa￿. but lor
those who use wheelchoirs, something not currenlly offered.
Jack Pelchey Adult Awards were ochieved by our cooches Lexy Milton ond Dovid Boggotl. 18 of our
participan15 a150 won Achievement Awords.
Our corrioge pony, Som, received the coveted aword of RDA Horse Of The Yeor and w05 also highly
commended in the Animal cotegory of Ihe B8C London Awards.
Nolalie O'Rourke won the prestigious Birt Spooner Award at the Nolionol RDA AGM. The aword recognises
exceptional dedication. service ond conthbulions to the rn￿510n of RDA and paro*queslrianism.

supplier costs, veterinary charge5 ond insurance.
Agansl this backdrop, we have been focvsing on ensuring Ihol the charity has o robvsl finonciol stnjclure as il
moves foword. We olso continue lo explore woys lo enhance our opefolionol eificiencie5. Our financial
recording is now digitised. bul can be improved lurther. We are exploring the feosibility of digitising our olher
odminislralive aclivilie5, which currently require considerable lime from our sloff.
We are olso looking inlo updoling the choritys governing conslitvtion. This wos iniliolly bosed on a model
Articles of Associolion prescribed by RDA UK of which we ore a member. We ore svpportive of on initiolive
taken by RDA UK lo consult with ils member groups regording broadening the objects clause within ils own
conslilution to reflect on extended ronge ol octivilies thot Some groups Ilike oursl now undertoke such os
equine Iherapy, as well as modemi5ing certain of ils provisions.
We hove a small board of Iru51ees wilh a range ol expertise to oversee the charity, ond we will be considering
ovr future needs. No*alie O'Rourte ond her smoll team ol sloff ond cooches ore responsible for the day-lo-doy
operations. as well os o host ol dedicoled volunteers who ossisl al the slobles. The Injstees also receive
ossislonce from certain volunteer5 who contribute lo the oversight. ncluding motler$ 5vch 05 heallh ond
safety. finonce, digilolisolion, marketing, legal, and HR.
More generolly, the trustee5 wish to put on record their apprecialion for all the hord work of Ihe staff. cooches
and the mony volunteer5 who hove produced thé oulcomes desciibed abové possib18 ond. in so doing,
enriched the live5 of our porticiponls.
During the yèar. Jone Mower stepped down ofter 10 yeors of loyol service. We welcomed Iwo of our
volunleef5 os new Iru5tees to our Board. Alison Lees, o former partner of on occounling firm. ond Constanza
Borreno. who has extensive commerciol experience. Their skill sets blend well wtth the other members ol the
Boord, which is now five strong.
