MPFmanagedtoeventuallyshowallexhibitionsthathadbeenscheduledbeforelockdown,albeitsome much
further down the line.

Thegalleryre-openedwithChloeDeweMathewsThamesLog.WewentontoshowThildeJensenIamnot invisible,
fromSeptember.BothThamesLogandIamnotinvisiblewerepartoftheinauguralBristolPhoto Festival
programmetoo.BeingpartofthefestivalprogrammehelpedpromotetheMPFtoawideraudience.Following that
JacquelineEnnis-Cole'scuratedgroupshowIntersectionalGeographies(theresultoftheOpenCallfor curators
made in 2021) went on display in January 2022.

The gallery is open to the public 4 days per week (Thu to Sun) and entry is always free.

## `Membership scheme`

ThemembershipyearendedinNovember2021with370memberships,equatingtoabout£40,000revenue, The
numberofmemberswasmarginallydownonpreviousyear(390)following18monthsofCovid Lockdowns.
However,afterthegalleryreopenedwithThamesLog,membershipsign-upsoutperformedthepreviousyear. As
ofMarch2022,subscriptionwereoncoursetooutperformallpreviousyears.InMarch2022theMPF also
welcomedanewPatronwhodonated£5,000.TheMPFheldtwomembershipevents:thePatrons'dinnerheld in
the gallery with talk from David Hurn and a Members' photo competition held over Zoom, judged by Martin Parr..
```

DespitehavingtopostponeandcancelmanygalleryeventsduringnationallockdownsMPFquicklyadapted to
hostingpopularonlineevents.ThisserieswascalledMPFPhotochatLiveanditattractedbignational and
international audiences.

GraduallyMPFstartedtodomoreandmoretalksinthegalleryagainandoftenbroadcasttheseliveviaZoom too.
thelistofspeakersincludedJoelMeyerowitz,TariqZaidi,PetervanAgtamel,ChloeDeweMathews,Yan Preston,
Anita Corbin, Simon Norfolk, Thilde Jensen, Donovan Wylie, Jamie Hawksworth, Michael Stipe and Janine Wiedel.

MPFJoinedforceswiththeirneighboursTheRoyalPhotographicSociety(RPS)tohostthePhotohubOpenHouse in
August2021.Thiswasanall-dayeventwithvarioustalksandtourstakingplace.Itattactedaudiencesfrom both
the MPF and RPS.

MPFhopetohostmorejointeventswithRPSinthefutureasitisagoodwaytotapintoeachother's audiences
and raise awareness of the two organistaions.

TheMPFContinuestohostpopulartoursforthearchive,forexamplefocusingontheworkofStephenGill,and coal
mining photography.

TheannualbooksonPhotography)BOP)three-dayevent,organisedbyMPFandRPS,returnedinOctober 2021
andwasextremelysuccessful.BOPrentedthePaintworksEventSpaceforthefirsttimetoaccommodateover 50
publishersfromtheUKandBeyond.Self-publishedphotographerswerehousedintheMPFgallery. An
accompanying programme of ten talks was held in the RPS auditorium.  All talks were recorded for the MPF archive.
```

## `Archive`

TheMPFarchivecontinuestogrow,althoughspaceisanissue.MPFinvestigatedwaysofaddressingthis and
purchasedtwonewbuildingsinthePaintworkscomplex.Thesewillbeusedforadditionalarchivestorageand a
study centre.  They are currently under construction, but MPF hope they can move into them early 2023.
```

getting many big trade orders from galleries and museums in the UK and beyond.

controlled storage, a library and a studio/office.

October2017sawthelaunchoftheMartinParrFoundationwhichincludedaseminardayfocussingon British
photography.Withanimpressiveline-upofeminentspeakersandpanellists,thiseventattractedover 150
participants.

Thegalleryisopentothepublicfourdaysaweekandthereisaprogrammeoftalksandbook-signingswhich take
placeatleastonceamonth.TheseeventsinvolvephotographersfromtheUKandbeyondtalkingabouttheir work.
Again, each event attracts a good crowd, usually 70 or more people.
