The objectives of the charity will be achieved by raising funds, to be invested in various projects including. a) the education and training of healthcare professionals, b) building healthcare and education related facilities, and c) the provision of life-saving equipment and medication. Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information) i) Grant making policy- The charity undertakes a checklist of internal reporting controls (i.e. due diligence) in regards to grant making, including obtaining details of the beneficiary, the disbursement of funds, and ensuring funds are used for their designated purpose. ii) Volunteer policy - Time and resources are provided to the charity by volunteers on an unpaid basis. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year The main achievements of the charity during the year under review are considered to be as follows.. i) Fundraising - Productive fundraising activities securing generous and regular donations, particulary from the graduates of Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, resident in the UK. The totsl funds raised in the year under review amounted to £2,218. ii) Grants - Total funds amounting to £2,000 were granted to support the following specific projects., a) HOPE (Health-oriented Preventive Education) UK CIO - working with this UK registered charity (and Pakistan registered Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO)), which has a mission to provide services of health and education for the poor and needy in Pakistan. No funds were granted in the year under review. b) Midland Doctors Association UK- working with this UK registered charity, which has a mission to purchase, equip and operate a hospital facility for the poor and needy in Kashmir, Pakistan. Funds granted in the year under review amounted to £1,000. c) East Riding Community Foundation Trust- working with this UK registered charity, which has been leading various inter-community cohesion programmes and activities in the East Riding Yorkshire area, England. Section E Financial review In the Trustees, view. the reserwes should provide the charity with adequate financial stability and the means for it to meet its charitable objectives for the foreseeable future. Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves The trustees propose to maintsin the charity's reserves at a level which is at least equivalent to six months operational expenditure, and have done so having regards to its manner of operation of likely funding streams. The trustees review the amount of reserves that are required to ensure that they are adequate to fulfil the charity's continuing obligations on a quarterly basis at their finance meeting. The diaspora resident in the UK. Europe. North America and the Middle East. ii) the general public. iii) Gift Aid donation tax credits. The charity has registered charity status with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), enabling it to claim tax credits on donations received from individual UK resident taxpayers, under the Gift Aid scheme. These are an additional Sour of funding for the charity. The eighth Gift Aid tsx credit claim amounting to £375 for the year to 3010412024 has recently been submitted to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). The charity granted funds totalling £2,000 in the year under review. These funds provided financial support to specific projects and beneficiaries resident in Pakistan, enabling the charity to fulfil its objectives. No expenditure was incurred by the charity in the year under review, as time and resources were provided to the charity on an unpaid voluntary basis.
