|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**Support group attendance**<br>Over the year (May 2022 to May 2023) we<br>have run 340, 40 minute online support<br>groups with an attendance of approximately<br>2,380 people + 65 face to face meetings<br>attended by approximately 520 people. This<br>has been made possible by approximately<br>350 hours of work by volunteer group<br>facilitators.<br>A 2015 survey of 535 support group<br>attendees found that there was a 2:1 ratio of<br>males to females attending support groups,<br>with the average age being 43 years old (44<br>for males; 40 for females). 89% of attendees<br>had alcohol as their main problem<br>substance, with 7% using non-opiate drugs<br>and 4% opiates. This has remained largely<br>unchanged in the time period since.<br>In the previous year (May 2021 to 2022)<br>attendance was approximately 2,450 service<br>users attending 352 support groups. We<br>have maintained the daily online meetings<br>introduced during the COVID 19 pandemic,<br>and have been able to reintroduce the face<br>to face meetings held at the local recovery<br>hub and another local venue.|





We hope to put on more face to face meetings over the next year as volunteers to run them have become available that meet the Charity’s criteria This. is subject to the lnformation, news and recovery stories are conveyed through our online presence. Currently we have 455 Facebook 'likes', 1220 followers on Twitter and our YouTube videos have been watched 280 times.
