The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31ST MARCH 2025 The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities' issued in March 2005.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT GOVERNING DOCUMENT
The charity is controlled by its governing document, and constitutes a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Risk management
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
CONSTITUTION
The Charity is constituted under a CIO Foundation Constitution dated 2015 and our Charity number is 1161241, on the central register of the Charity Commission of England and Wales.
INTRODUCTION
The principal objective of the Charity is the promotion for the public benefit of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation (and in particular West Hendon). Our purpose is to raise standards and influencing our society. We provide grants to advance recreational facilities enabling the population who by reason of their youth, poverty and social and economic circumstances have need of such facilities.
METHOD OF APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
Trustee selection methods including details of any constitutional provisions e.g. election to post or name of any person or
body entitled to appoint one or more trustees Para 1.25 The Board can consist of 7 trustees.

Two trustees may be appointed by following an election or nomination process involving residents of West Hendon,

Two shall be appointed by the Council
-
Two may be appointed by Metropolitan Housing Trust (trading as MTVH)
-
One Trustee shall be appointed by the Trustees following an election or nomination process involving a business situation in or near to West Hendon.
Every trustee shall be appointed for a maximum term of three years.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document
To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interest of – social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the residents of the Area of Benefit West Hendon estate, especially those residents who by youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social or economic circumstances may have need for or benefit from such facilities.
Summary of the main activities
To promote West Hendon Community Trust Fund ’ s work, their service and offer to the residents on the estate.
To offer assistance to the residents of West Hendon with completing forms and ensuring applicants understood the funding eligibility.
To support the Board of Trustees with grant and project management administration so that they have all of the information
they need to decide on applications received so that they can decide whether or not to award that meet the Trust ’ s purposes:

Relieve poverty.

Support with hardship.

Provide educational, wellbeing, volunteering opportunities for the adults in the community.

Provide activities suitable for the children and young people that are educational, recreational and stimulating.

16 BACS payments were made towards programmes and services that benefitted the residents of West Hendon.
The total disbursed during the financial year is £ 51,755.

Yes, trustees are made aware of their role and responsibilities. They are guided by the Constitution.

Achievements and Performance
The Trustees of the West Hendon Community Trust Fund met 4 times during this financial year.
The Board received and viewed 17 applications during April 24 to March 2025. 16 were awarded and 1 refused because the proposed services were already being delivered on the estate by other funded programmes and the main landlord MTVH.
The 16 approved applications delivered these services for the benefit of the residents:

1 Stay and Play provision for children on the estate so that isolated and struggling families could get active, learn and make friends.

1 Summer Event, a carnival, aimed at achieving cohesion of the cultures within the community.

12 Health and Wellbeing courses - Yoga, Art and Social Sessions, Massage and Meditation that remain very popular with the residents on the estate
-
and are well attended.

1 Summer coach trip was funded for adults, older residents, to Viking Bay in Kent
-
1 programme for residents over 60 which includes a range of leisure activities, benefit advice and digital inclusion support.

The total amount requested through applications during the period is £ 74,705 compared to last year ’ s amount of £ 16,900.

Amount awarded £ 64,505, £ 47,605 more than last year.
Approximate number of beneficiaries of the awards is similar to last year, around 800.
The Trustees met 4 times this financial year, to review the plans of the charity and make decisions organisational applications received.

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period Cash funds of £69,380.23.

The trust holds no reserves.
Reasons for holding zero reserves
The Trust spends money very judiciously considering the needs of the beneficiaries of the West Hendon estate and does not have a need to have reserves at this time.

There are no uncertainties about the charity ’ s ability to continue as a going concern.
The charity ’ s Principal Sources of Funds
WHCTF was setup in 2015 through a request by Barratt Metropolitan Ltd Liability Partnership (BMLLP)
Barratt Metropolitan LLP is required to make financial contributions in accordance with a set formula as the regeneration of the estate being carried out.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of West Hendon Community Trust Fund for the year ended 31 MARCH 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. - examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
