We provide a place of Christian worship and education in Formby, both al our premises and through a number of local groups held in people's homes. and occasionally directly in the local community via open air and one to one sessions. We hold a worship service al the church every week. During this time we have a Sunday school for ages 2-11 and also have Creche facilities available. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects {include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) Out church feels very strongly that il has a responsibility and duly to a11 the 25,000 residents of Formby for Iheir spiritual and social welfare. All our activities are therefore open to Ihe general public, who are most welcome to attend. In our Sunday setvice we actively encourage everybody who attends to fill out a connection card so we can follow up with them and understand I help wilh their needs. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year The Village Church Formby continues to be a key contributor within the community of Formby as we fulfil our staled goals. Our weekly meetings have continued to change and adapt as required by the people of the community who attend. We still provide for All Age Services on weeks where regular Sunday School is not held (usually monthly} and have recently welcomed the older children (ages 12+1, previously in Sunday School to remain part of the regular service. As the children in the church have grown up we were forced lo end our primary kid's club, however, this has resulted in an increased number of youth eligible to attend youth activities, which we are now part of in conjunction with other local churches. If the age range of the children interested changes we remain ready lo restart kid's club or an allernalive dependenl on volunteers and church facilities. We have also Continued with regular weekly meetings in people's homes as we seek lo include more of our regular Sunday altendees in our work. This has seen an increase both in numbers and in commitment from those in church as they seek lo share their lives together. We continue to meet weekly for a prayer meeting, as well as regular leadership and oversight meetings, including those of Elders, Trustees, ministry teams, and planning teams. We are still hampered in our growth by the constraints of our building facilities and capacity. We continue in the search for suitable premises, however know feasible options have arisen over the last year. We have also faced the difficulty of continuing church business matters following the loss of former treasurer and trustee Paul Lister. This has resulted in Gary Wallis serving as interim treasurer until a permanent replacemenl can be appointed. however, such a person has not been identified over the last year. Having a church elder serve as treasurer is not desirable, however, we wi51 continue in this way until an alternative option becomes available. TAR March 2012

Section E Financial review The Village Church Formby, formerly Formby Baptist Church, has been blessed with a number of small bequests and good reserves from the period whin it had no paid employees. Currently ils monthly expenditure exceeds it's income, therefore we have set a minimum reserves level of £20,000. As of 31103125 we have just less than double this amounl available. Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves Details of any funds materially in deficit Further financial review details (Optional information} An important issue lo report is that no gift aid has been claimed in this year's reporting. This is due to the complex nature of accounting and the fact that an inexperienced person has unexpectedly been forced lo lake on the treasurer role, According to government guidelines gift aid can be claimed up lo four years in arrears, whilst our unclaimed period is just under 18 months.11 is hoped that in the coming months a claim can be calculated and processed which will then appear in next years reports. You may choose to include additional information, where relevant about.. the charity's principal sources of funds (including any fundraisingl., how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity, investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.
