March 2012

All of our activiti8s are aimed at the advancement of the Christian faith in
accordance with our basis of faith through Christian Worship, Teaching
and enlightening the public, Production of Christian literatur8, Missionary
Work, Raising awareness about the Christian faith, and other such
charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the elders, further the work
of the church.
We provide a plao of Christian worship and education in Fomiby, both at
our premises and through a number of local groups held in people's
homes, and occasionally directly in the local community via open air and
one to one sessions. We hold a worship seNice at the church every
week. During this time we have a Sunday school for ages 2-11 and also
have Creche facilities available.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
Out church feels very strongly that it has a responsibility and duty to all
the 25,000 residents of Fomiby for their spiritual and social welfare. All
our activities are therefore open to the general public, who are most
welcome to attend. In our Sunday service we actively encourage
everybody who attends to fill out a connection card so we can follow up
wilh them and understand I help with their needs. W8 also try to engage
with out community as much as possible by street evangelism, and
providing a wam and welcoming environment for prayer and worship.
We provid8 lifts to and from our ServI￿S and events for the elderly,
infirm, and disablad as required.
The Village Church Fomby has been a CIO since 2015. The Trustees
are familiar with the requirements of seclion17(5) of the Charities Act and
the Charities (Accounts and Reports) regulations 2008.

Section D
Achievements and performance
The Village Church Fomby continu8S to be a key contributor within the
community of Fomiby as we fulfil our stated goals. Our weekly meeting
have continued to change and adapt as required by the people of the
Community who attend. We still provide for All Age Servic8s on weeks
where regular Sunday School is not held (usually monthly) and have
recently welcomed the older children (ages 12+1, previously in Sunday
School to remain part of the regular service.
Summary ofthe maln
achievements of the charity
during the year
We have also continued with a primary school aged Kids Club, and a
Youth Group for High School children both of which meet weekly during
temi time. Both of these are supported by willing volunteers from within
the church family, with an increasing impact on the children who are part
of Ihese.
We have also continued with regular weekly meetings in people's homes
as we seek to include more of our regular Sunday attendees in our work.
This has seen an increase both in numb8rs and in commitment from
those in church as they seek to share their lives together.
We Continue to m8et weekly for a prayar meeting, as well as regular
leadership and oversight meetings, including those of Elders, Trustses,
ministry teams, and planning teams.
We are still hampered in our growth by the constraints of our building
facilities and capacity. We continue in the search for suitable premises,
however d8SPlte several promising possibilities none of these have come
to fnjition.
We have also faced obstacles in tsrms of the h8alth of our Full Time
Elder, resulling in frequent absences and hospitslisations. This has
hopefully now been resolved by surgery. We also faced the unexpected
death of Paul Lister as our treasurer and trustee, who was present for the
entirety of this report P8riod, which is now being completed by the
remaining trustees. Paul will be shown as removed as a trustee in Ihe
next years report.
