All of our activities are aimed at the advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with our Basis of Faith through Christian worship, production of Christian literature, teaching and enlightening the public about the Christian faith, raising awareness about the Christian faith, and Christian missionary work, and such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the Elders further the work of the Church.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

We provide a place of Christian worship and education in Formby, both at our premises and through a number of local groups held in people’s homes, and occasionally directly to the local community via open air and one to one sessions. We hold a worship service at the Church every week. During this time we have a Sunday School for ages 3 to 14 and also have crèche facilities available. Our Church feels very strongly that it has a responsibility and duty to all the 25,000 residents of Formby for their spiritual and social welfare. All our activities are therefore are open to the general public, who are most welcome to attend. In our Sunday service we actively encourage everybody who attends to fill out a connection card so we can follow up with them and understand / help with their needs. We also try to engage with our community as much as possible by street evangelism, and providing a welcoming environment for prayer and worship.

We provide lifts to and from our services and events for the elderly, infirm and disabled as required.

The Village Church Formby has been a CIO since 2015. The Trustees are familiar with the requirements of Section 17(5) of the Charities Act and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008.

**Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The Village Church Formby continues to be a key contributor within the community of Formby as we fulfil our stated goals. After a difficult period during the COVID-19 restrictions the church has recovered with vibrancy and growth. Our regular weekly meetings have adapted to the changing needs within our community and now reflect the shape of our congregation more appropriately with monthly All Age Services, and Cafe Church meetings which are more family friendly and informal. We have seen significant growth at these services in the last 18 months, which has been resulted in new challenges and new opportunities. During this period we have launched two new programs for our growing demographic of young people. With a Monday night Kids Club for primary school aged children, and a Friday night Youth Group for high school aged children. Both of these new ventures are well staffed with eager volunteers, and a growing impact on children from within our regular church attenders and those who are new to our work. A restructuring of our mid-week studies has moved away from an adult Bible Study, and has become a more inclusive multi-generational collection of hubs centred around community, food, and our spiritual values. This new system has seen engagement increase significantly as more and more families within our church share life together. We continue to meet weekly for a prayer meeting, as well as regular leadership and oversight meetings, including those of the elders, trustees, ministry teams and planning teams. One significant obstacle faced by our continued growth is the suitability of our current premises, as such we have began the process of inquiring about opportunities to relocate to a larger venue and hope that in due course this may be obtained.
