## **Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and the Examiner** 

The Trustees (who are also the Directors of the company for the purposes of company  law)  are  responsible  for  the  preparation  of  the  Accounts.  The Trustees  consider  that  an  audit  is  not  required  for  this  year  under Section144(2)  of  the  Charities  Act  2011  (the  2011  Act)  and  that  an independent examination is needed.

The Trustees (who are also the Directors for the purposes of company law) acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of the accounts. These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime and with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities 2008.

- To advance in life and help young people through: 

- The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; 

- Providing support, education and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. 

- To develop the capacity and skills of the local communities of the district of Workington and surrounding area in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society”
