SORP reference
Summary of the purposes Para 1.17 The purpose of the charity is to
of the charity as set out relieve the suffering of dogs in
in its governing Romania that are in need of care
document and attention and to build safe
and healthy environments for
them.
We also try to educate the public
in all matters pertaining to animal
welfare and particularly the
prevention of cruelty and suffering
of dogs in Romania.
Summary of the main Para 1.17 and We offer financial help to our long-
1.19
activities in relation to standing Romanian rescuers in
those purposes for the order to rescue as many dogs as
public benefit, in possible from public kill shelters
particular, the activities, and the streets, providing food,
projects or services veterinary treatment and ongoing
identified in the care. We also help with the cost
accounts. of neutering in order to reduce the
over population of dogs in the
country.
We find homes in the UK for
rescued dogs and we also
fund/sponsor dogs that cannot be
brought to the UK. This includes
dogs that are elderly, recovering
from an illness or have been in a
shelter for a long time that need
extra care and possibly veterinary
treatment in their declining years.
Some dogs brought to the UK may
need additional care and ongoing
medical treatment, even following
adoption and we continue to
support these financially.

We also try to rehome dogs to
people who have been rejected by
other rescues due to being elderly,
disabled, do not match their
criteria or unable to find the right
dog to match their home and
lifestyle. All dogs are assessed to
ensure the right type of home is

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference

Summary of the main
achievements of the
charity, identifying the
diference the charity’s
work has made to the
circumstances of its
benefciaries and any
wider benefts to society
as a whole.
Para 1.20 Our rescuers in Romania prepare
the dogs for travel to the UK. This
includes neutering, vaccinations,
tests, microchip, health checks
and arranging passports. We pay
these costs as well as the travel
expenses for the dogs to be
transported from Romania by a
specialist animal importer. The
dogs are taken to our own rescue
centre in Somerset or to local
experienced fosterers to be
assessed.
Their stay must be for a minimum
of two days and then depending
on each dog’s needs they will go
to adopters who will have already
been vetted by our home check
team.
Due to movement restrictions of
dogs into the UK since early in
2022 we have not rescued any
dogs to the UK since April 2022.
In addition to neutering and
emergency care on an adhoc basis
for dogs found on the streets
and/or in shelters, we have
commenced a regular neutering
programme with a local vet in
Romania.
This year we have paid £8,844
mainly in vet bills to Romanian
vets. This includes the neutering
of street dogs.
We have tried to help more dogs in
Romania due to the restrictions
imposed and less dogs being able
to be rescued to the UK.
Donations of £3,277 have been
made to provide food and shelter
for dogs in public shelters and on
the streets.
The cost of veterinary care in the
UK for dogs rescued has totalled
£2,752 which is substantially
lower than last year due to the
lack of dogs arriving in the UK and
less dogs needing additional
medical care.

We have social media pages where adopters share videos, photos and provide advice and support to each other. We also continue to offer support and advice after adoption, where needed. We also provide a facility for supporters to make donations to Romania through us. We simply accept donations and forward them straight to a particular rescuer or cause as requested by the donator. Due to personal reasons we do not intend to rehome as many dogs in the UK as we have in the past but we aim to increase the support to Romanian dogs in the coming year by way of the new neutering campaign and continued donations.
