Given the many areas we have been investing in this past year with our Cactus work, it has become clear that we need to put more time into fundraising for the charity’s work to develop and thrive. We have, thus far, been relying a huge amount on voluntary work, particularly the time and effort of the two founders, Pip and Will Campbell-Clause. 

In view of this, and in light of the positive feedback and demand for the educational events we are offering, we plan to try and raise money to pay a part-time Project Manager and Educator. We very much hope we will be able to secure funding for this role, as the positive educational impact is likely to be significant and far reaching. 

We would like this Project Manager and Educator to plan, deliver and monitor a series of education events over the next two years, aimed at encouraging, inspiring and shaping the church in caring better for creation and caring better for our neighbours.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Many people (between 400-500) have been engaged through the courses, events and teaching we have delivered this past year through Cactus. We have been able to measure this as we received excellent feedback from participants. 

We are being invited to speak at churches more regularly and there is an appetite for more of the events we have out on – particularly events similar to the large ‘Taste and See’ day we organised at Windout Farm in Devon in June. This consisted of three main teaching sessions, a panel discussion, group discussions and a feast of local produce, accompanied by a lunch time concert with songs that helped to illuminate the event themes. 

The Harvest Festivals we spoke at were also received very well, with churches requesting us to journey alongside more intentionally them in implementing the creation care actions. There is a need for more pastoral support for churches to grow in this area and we hope to be able to offer more support to church communities who are wanting to engage deeply with this part of Christian discipleship. 

The ‘Sustaining the World’ course we delivered at Trinity College Bristol was also well received. Students engaged deeply and the feedback was very positive. Some of the theology students requested field trips to farms to enable them to reflect theologically on farming and eating practices, as well as the just distribution of food to the hungry. We hope to be able to offer onsite visits and learning for theology student groups like this. 

Another area we have been working on is developing video resources to serve church groups. We have been planning three videos, each approximately 20-minutes in length, that churches can engage with in their communities. We hope that the reach of these videos will be far and wide and make a significant impact. 

We have also been working on our branding and our website, so that we can appeal to a wider variety of people and hopefully engage more of the public with these important Christian discipleship themes. This will hopefully broaden the reach of the charitable work, and seems to be effective, since we are now receiving enquiries from further afield.
