The trustees present their annual report and finanaal statements for the year ended 31 December 2023.
The finanaal statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounbng poliaes set out in note 1 to the

Oblectlves and actlvltles
We work with adutt traumab¢ brain survivors 118 and overl, their tsmilies and ¢8rws in West London 8$ Ihgy
leave hospital and begin thèir rehabilrtation PrO￿$S & ensure vulnetable, isolated brain injured survivors do not
fall through the net.
Our airn is lo help them achieve their full polential by providing supporl. expert advice and signposting them to
relevant services and also offer our own targeted training lo enable Ihem to improve their resilience, heatth and
well -being.
We hold o monthly support which 1$ b&in9 run by ouf part tim& link wort¢rs and volunteers.
We have organvzed regular online training and information and educalion sessions and interactwe social and
group activities for our benefiaaries including iheir Ca￿rs.
We run 8 18r9eled health and wellbeing projects in addition lo other keep fil and swal 8divilies. Wtr Nn a
monthly art group which all &n¢ourages our ben•￿'an&S lo rèconn¢cl with their communits'es.
Our help has be6n partlculaty crucial to survivors and carers during the vital init181 stag8s of recovery and
rehabilitation, including helping them overcome Ihe challenges in coping with their complex health. social and
economic problerns and in combatting Ihe isolalionand vulnerability that is usualty experienced. If we cannot
help. our link workers signpost lo olher organisations who ￿n.
We provide information via our website, newslett&rs, F8¢&book. insta9fam and our support 9roup$.
Thè trustees have paid dve regard to guidance i$8ved by the Charity Commission in de¢iding what activitlttS the
charity should undertake.

It is the policy of the chanty that un￿stricted funds which have nol been designated for a specific use should be
maintained at a level equivalent to beNveen three and six month's expenditure. The trustees consi(Jer that
reserves at this level will ensure thal, in the evenl of a significanl dfop in lunding. they will be able to continue the
charity's current activities while Consideration 15 given to ways in which additional funds rnay be raised. This level
of reserves h83 been maintsined throughout the ye•r.
The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charrty is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are In
place to mrftigate exposure to the Ma1￿ risks.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Headway West London Limited (the charity)
lor the year ended 31 Decembw 2023.

As the trustees of the charity land also rts directors for the purposes of company lawl you are responsible for the
preparation ol the financial statements in accordance with Ihe requirements ol the Companies Act 2006 (the 2006
Act).
Having satisfied Myse￿ that the financial statements of the charity 8re not required to be audited under Part 16 of
the 2006 Act and are eligible lor independent 8xaminatM)n. I report in iesped of my examination of the charity's
financial statèments carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). In carrying out my

1.1 Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wrth the charity's Igoveming documenti, thè
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland I"FRS 102.1 and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charit￿S preparing Iheir accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021. leffeclive 1 January 20191. The
charity is 8 Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provision$ in the SORP for charities not to prepare a Statement of
Cash Flows.
The financial statements are prepared in steding. which is the funcb'onal oJThenry of the charity. Monetary
arnounts in these financial statements are rounded lo the nearest £.
The financial stslements have been prepared under the hi5tOriC81 cost convention. Imodffied lo include the

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the tfusiees in luriherance of their charitable

Restricted funds are subject to specffjc conditsons by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted lunds are set out in the notes to the financAal statements.
Endowment fvnds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the
charity.
1.4 Incom•
Income is recognised when the charity is legalty enlitled to it after any performance condilions have been rnel.

Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donalions are recognised once the charty has been noty'fied
