Activities

The charity operates in the Old Newton and Gipping areas of Suffolk. It publishes a village newsletter and operates a lottery which is registered with the Local Authority. Funds are raised from the lottery and from advertisements which appear in the village newsletter. Funds raised are distributed to assist organisations within the charity's area of benefit, in accordance with its constitution.

Objects: The Charity's Objects ('The Objects') Are :-(A) To Provide Recreational Facilities, Playing Fields, Playgrounds, Community Centres And Other Amenities Of A Similar Character For The Benefit Of The Community Residing In Old Newton And Gipping And The Neighbourhood (Hereinafter Called 'The Area Of Benefit') In The Interests Of Social Welfare And With The Objects Of Advancing Education, Furthering Health Or In Pursuing Any Objects Which Now Are, Or Hereafter May Be Deemed To Be , Charitable, Without Distinction Of Gender, Sexual Orientation, Age, Disability, Nationality, Race Or Political, Religious Or Other Opinions, Including The Use Of Any Facility For Meetings, Lectures And Classes Or Other Forms Of Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation In The Interests Of Social Welfare And With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Said Inhabitants.(b) (I) In Furtherance Of The Above Purposes The Charity May Raise Funds And Invite And Receive Contributions From Any Person Or Persons Whatsoever By Way Of Subscriptions, Donations And A Weekly Lottery Known As "Little Ernie"/"the Village Lottery".(ii) Will Publish A Village News Letter Known As "The Old Newton And Gipping Crier", At Least Six Times Per Annum.(c) Provided Always That Nothing In The Foregoing Shall Authorise Or Empower The Charity To Participate Directly Or Indirectly In Any Activity Which Is Not Charitable, According To The Laws Of The United Kingdom, For The Time Being In Force And The Whole Of The Property And The Funds Of The Charity Shall At All Times Be Used And Applied For Such Purposes Only As Are Charitable In Accordance With Such Laws.
