Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the maln achievements of the charity during the year DeNentside Trust continues to make progress in 202312024, developing our community kitchen and adding further services to help the local community. We continue to operate to support the community to a very high level, preparing and delivering food parcels for vulnerable peoplo and those in financial difficulty. Continue to work with Dutham County Council to support Fun and Food activities. We also work closety with the Area Action Partnership and in this last year have delivered support to employment courses, mini-medics and helping people with benefits claims, job search and with personal support for a range of circumstances. We envisage this to continue, the main benefit to the trust being the opening of the long-awaited kitchen to further support our community with community meals. We have also improved Ihe marketing and awareness of Glenroyd House with a new website planned, social media awareness heightened and a planned brand change. We aim lo put Glenroyd House on the map and grow the charity further. We are actively working with Durham County Council Fun and Food activities and secure funding to delivery these programmes at school holidays throughout the year with great success. This is something that is growing within the local area. Having the long-term lease, will now afford Derwentside Trust to apply for grants and funding which will support the further development of the building and improve it for more public use. We also had our Glenroyd Grotto which was a major success once again and something that we will be developing over Ihe coming years as this was greatly appreciated and very welcome by the local community. Whilst this has been another challenging year, it has also been a very worthwhile year supporting people and growing the seNices that we offer as a local charity. We continue to grow and develop especially with our goal to have our community kitchen fully developed, this is a milestone that has been incredibly difficult due to unforeseen circumstances and delayed us in getting this off the ground, however we believe that we will achieve this and firmly believe it will be a great benefit to our local community. We would like lo take this opportunity to thank all of the people, families, businesses, Durham County Council and the Derwent Valley Area Action Partnership and local Councillors, local shops and supermarkets for their support this past year which has been greatly appreciated to help us to help our community.
