Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 The charity has made a deficit of £6,038
compared to a surplus of £11,168 last year,
mainly a result of a reduction in amounts
received from government funding (27%
reduction) and parental contributions (55%
reduction). The current reduced staff team and
the high cost of using agency supply staff led
to reduced capacity. In addition, in some
terms, lower numbers attending the local
school had an impact on the number of
children attending nursery.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 The nursery holds surplus reserves of £97,053
in a savings account to allow for future
exceptional events and potential closure costs.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 Reserves, including savings, total £119,645.
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24

however discussions are being held with the
