Objectives and Activities

About Ihezie Foundation

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document

Ihezie Foundation is a UK-based charity dedicated to transforming lives through literacy and education across the UK and Africa. By providing high-quality books to underserved schools and institutions, we support educators, inspire a love of reading, and open doors of opportunity for children and young people who need it most. We believe education is one of the most powerful tools for long-term change, and every book delivered helps shape a brighter future.

Our Purpose and Public Benefit

Access to quality education is one of the greatest gifts a society can offer its future generations. At the heart of education lies access to books, resources that nurture curiosity, develop essential skills, and encourage lifelong learning.

Ihezie Foundation exists to address this need. The trustees confirm that all activities undertaken during the year directly further the charity’s objectives and deliver clear public benefit, in line with our governing document.

Our Work in the UK

Ihezie Foundation is committed to strengthening literacy and educational outcomes for children across the UK. Through our book donation programmes, we increase access to high-quality reading materials and help schools build vibrant, well-resourced libraries that pupils can take pride in.

Our work spans Greater London, Buckinghamshire, and surrounding counties, where we support primary schools by delivering essential children’s books. Our aim is simple but powerful: to ensure every school we support has the resources needed to spark curiosity, boost literacy, and help young learners thrive.

Our Work in Africa

Across Africa, Ihezie Foundation supports schools, universities, and libraries through the donation of textbooks. Our approach is rooted in the belief that access to education provides students with the strongest possible foundation for life. By improving access to learning materials, we help equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to identify and maximise social, medical, and economic opportunities. In doing so, our work supports not only individual students, but also the wider communities they belong to.

(Chelsea Ihezie and Michael Bloedorn of Ihezie Foundation with teachers at Edward Betham Primary School in Greenford London)

The programme will continue with planned donations to primary schools in the London Lewisham Borough:

By increasing access to engaging, age-appropriate books, Ihezie Foundation is helping children develop strong reading habits, broaden their horizons, and build a solid foundation for future learning.

Since our inception, against the odds and through every challenge, we rose, stronger, wiser, and victorious. What once felt impossible now stands as a testament to perseverance and belief. We did it our way and this moment is proof that patience, courage and heart always find its reward.
