We have continued to progress and think creatively to ensure our goals for the development of Larkin Farm Rural Activity Centre are achieved. Si nce completion of the Centre, the school has found that it requlres additional support for the upkeep of the farm. The Centre is used extensively by local schools and colle8e5 as well as Abbey Court pupil% It also provides opportunities for members of the local cornmunlty for work experlence and volunteering. It is an Important educational resource for the local communlty and children1y￿n8 people across Medway. During our meetings we have reviewed existing activities In line with the fundlng priorities for the Trust, which were Identlfled as: l. Anlmal feed 2. Anlmal welfare & living 3. Farm upkeep in general (e.g. maintenance) 4. Purchase of additional animals The Trust had a totsl income for the flnancial year 2024-25 of £16,845.51 wlth outgoin8s of £17,432.34, makir8 a net loss of £586.83 for the year, decreasin8 the bank balance to £23,383.08 to roll fcyward. The Trust continued to run a lottery In 2024-25 (renewin8 its liCe￿e obtained from Gravesham and Medway Shared Llcenslng Servlces). From the overall income of £1,470 from the Lottery, a profit of £670 was made after deduction of the £800 needed for prize money. Please note that some of the income for the 2024-25 Lottery was recelved in advance In the previous financlal year but has been Included In the totsl fi8uresfor the draw for reportlng consistency. The Trust contlnues to run an Animal Adoption Scheme raising a profit of £2384.76. The increase on previous year beir6 due to a multiple adoption donatlon totalling £690 from the Gallagher Group. FurHJrai5ing events were held included Sponsored Move £773.50, Sllver Race £587.05, Non-uniform day £196.70, Horse Ra Ni8ht £993.42, Christmas Jumper Fashion Show £466.80, Chrlstmas Jumper Day £346.81, a Farm open day £6238.76 and Carols on the Farm £1012.87. The Trust recelved corporate and community donatlons amountlng to £650.01 whlch Included sums from lottery wlnners donating back their cash prizes, local councillors and the collettion tin held at a local gara8e The Trust also submltted claims for currenvhlstorlc Glft Aid of £792.52.
