Proposals are discilssed at our monthly meetings. Decisioiis are

aiid complex needs witliin a Inixed ability day service.
OLlI' Wednesday groiip, for people with inor¢ pi'ofound aiid coinplcx iieeds, is iiow i'uiiniiig at full
capacity. Niimbei's are limited foi. this day due to tl)e cohort i'equiring a liighcr I'atio of staff to siippoit
theii. iieeds aiid more available floor space for wlieelchaii. useis. The day Continues lo be lieavily siib-
sidised to make the fees niore affoi'dable to service users.
Tlie Leatherhead Link day service supported 48 people wlio atteiided 105 sess ioiis pei. week. Maiiy of
tlie atteiidees reqii ire enhanced care due to tlie natuir of their disabilities. Attendance reinaiiis Iiigh
witli ali average of 22 people attei)diiig Moiiday to Friday. To meet tlie safety of iiidividuals, our
service is inaiiiied with 7 Inembers of staff plus several persoiial assi5taiils wlio atteiid with tlieii.

Over tlie past year we increased tlie number of social events for menibers and tlie wider coinmunity.
Events incliided Siiminer BBQS, live band evenliigs, quiz nights, discos, Wediiesday Social Cliib for
adiilts and our 'Open House, tea parties. These events continiie to prove popular with oui. meirjbers
and tlieir famil les and leave tl)e liall with staiiding Toom oiily.
We contÉnued to ari'aiige seasonal day trips throughoiit tlie year witl) tlie objective of enriching tlie
lives of our iiiembers, especially for tl)ose who iio longer have family inembeTS to siippoit tliem. We
ai'raiiged several ti'ips to tlie theatre for over 40 people aiid several days out at tlie seaside. Tliese trips
help ci'eate m2( gical memories for oiir members.
Reaching out in our community
For tlie 2 yeai. runnino we entered the Aslitead Village Day, a well-attended local event. We liad
several pitclies selling lioiiie growii plants and a fun tombola stal l. Bottles and plaiits were doiiated
by oiir iiieiiibei's and plants were also orown in oiir day service gardeniiig club. The day was a re-
souiidiiig success in not only raising awareiiess of our cliarity iii our local community but also raised
more tl)an £1,200.
Volunteers and Support
Mid Siirrey Meiicap promotes and eiicoiirages voluiiteers to support our charity.

wlieit we li<ive forged good relations. Tliey continue lo provide volunteer working parties offeriiig
practical lielp aiid1i<111ds-oii support.
We al'e <ilso extrernely fortunate to liave the siipport of many members wl)o contiiiue to volunteer for
oiir cliai'ity, and witlioiit wliom, we would iiot exist. Parents, carers and friends forin tlie basis of our
cliarity 4liid inaiiy oftlie operational roles are carried oiit by voluiitee15 wlio give ilieir tiine fi'eely. Oiir
voliiiiteers eiiables tl)e charity to plough all ils fuiidraisiiia efforts back iiito our ineinbei's. saving lis
tlie expeiise of employiiig operalioiial slaff.
We liave recriiited five people wAtI) learning disabilities to voliinteer in our day Service. Feedback to
date lias been very positive witli beneficial attributes to boil) parties.
All lielp from volunteer groups aiid donations were very gratefully received.
Plans for the future
Mid Surrey Mencap has been working towards tlie goal of enlargiiig our premises to provide improved
facil ities. Tlie iiew space will enable better use of tlie building, improve tl)e ability to teacli life skills
and will meet tlle needs for personal care in a more dignified manner.
Plaiis were subinitted to Mole Valley District Council in November 2024, and we received confii'ma-
tioii of approval in Febriiary 2025.
A Surrey-b&8ed firn) has been cominissioned to provide full construction detailed plans witli woi'king
drawings to enable tlie build works to go to teiider. We are curreiitly in tlie process of interviewing
local bliilding companies.
