Overview

St Michael’s School PTA (“ PTA ”) is a registered charity that works with the parents, teachers and the leadership team of the St Michael’s CofE School (“ School ”), with the objective of organising funding events and promoting the School’s values across the wider community.

The money raised by the PTA Money is spent in accordance with the requests received from the School’s leadership and teachers, to purchase such goods and services that are not immediately available through the local education authority funding, as well as to enhance the pupils’ educational experience at the School.

Trustees of the PTA are responsible for controlling the work, management and administration of the charity on behalf of its beneficiaries, and include the Chair, the Treasurer, and the Secretary.

Fundraising events and projects supported

The most popular events organised by the PTA include the November Fireworks Display, the Christmas Fair, and the Summer Fete, which see most of the School children and their families participate.

Other events include the Autumn and Spring Socials for parents, a Winter Disco for children, and regular playground events like Cake Sales and Second-hand Uniform Sales.

Grants for school activities and equipment transferred to the School totalled £14,403 in the year ended 31 August 2024.

Transfers of funds to the School are treated as the PTA’s expenditure in its annual accounts as " Gifts to School " and totalled 14,403. The cost of the School Science Fair was £184, and the PTA’s expenses for the year were £565, mainly represented by payments to Parentkind and a videoconferencing platform used for the PTA meetings.

The assets of the PTA are represented by cash in its bank account, the balance of which was £64,867 on 31 August 2024.
