Achievements and Performance.

It is the prime function of the Centre to help and if need be : support local community members and Centre users alike , without reference to race, religious persuasion , medical condition or sexuality.

The building and gardens have disabled access to all public areas which enables centre users to fully engage with all events, we have two brick ramps to enable wheelchair use to access both entrances to the centre.

Each year at the AGM, the membership approves of two reputable Charities to support for the coming year. This year the chosen Charities were Hectors House and Animals in Distress.

The Centre Hall is used regularly as a polling station for local authority and national elections. The building is also made available to health care workshops, Community Hub meetings. and community organisations. The Centre also holds coffee and craft mornings every Saturday which are open to all for community purposes, these are well attended and engage members and nonmembers alike in a variety of activities including those that support other causes.

As the centre gardens are the only space in a built-up area, they have been designated as an amenity space for the general public. Work is continually undertaken to improve the garden area for the benefit of the street scene and the local community as a sanctuary for peace and quiet.

More Improvements to the centre this year include. Registering with Torbay Food Standard Agency. We achieved a rating of 4 and have since on their advice, met the requirements needed in the Kitchen, so we are hoping that after they next visit to shall achieve the highest rating of 5. New roller blinds and vertical blinds in the building. Stained glass window designed and inserted to honour our members who have donated and volunteered in our Centre . The centre roof was power washed and gutters cleaned. New equipment for the Centre, kitchen and office and other improvements to benefit our members and public alike. We have a 5 year maintenance plan in place.

We are registered for Weddings and same sex marriage. we also have two authorised Registered people from the centre to officiate and register marriages. We have had two same sex marriages in our centre, naming ceremonies, blessings and funerals this year.

Maintenance is ongoing, our Warden checks the building regularly and reports any defects to the committee. We have safeguarding and H&S policies in place, and an appointed Safe Guarding trained officer on the committee as well as a H&S officer . There are Building Insurances and all necessary Certificates required in place, which are checked yearly by the South West District Warden, who also sends copies to the SNU.

The Officers and Committee extend a warm welcome to all who enter our building. Paignton SNU Spiritualist Centre is here for our Members and public alike.
