Well-kept and clearly presented records make the transactions for the year April 2024 to March 31[st] 2025 easy to read and to cross-check.

Income came from the Charity Shop sales, ranging from £2,240 to £3,534 per month; the Monday lunch club £516 - £818 per month from April to December after which it ceased operations. This fact accounts for the drop in income compared to the year before. A waste disposal company bought unsold items etc., and miscellaneous donations raised a total of £44,082 for the year which represents a drop of £1,220 compared to the previous year. The total income for the year showed up in Bank Statements, records for the petty cash held and an increase in the Reserve account of nearly £1,000.

Monthly expenditure ranged from £743 to £5925. Two months, chosen at random were checked in detail. Receipts and documentation were found that confirmed the expenditure and income.

The current account opened the year with a balance of £13,978 and closed at £4624. The savings account rose from£25,466 to £26,357 confirming the sound financial position of the charity.

Grants agreed at the last meeting of the previous year were paid-out during the year along with new applications ranging from £450 to £10,000 made in 2024 from the Football club an Sheltered Housing that have improved the lives of Shap residents; once again proving that this well-run charity is a boon to Shap and the local district.
