MAODS January 17, 2025

DEAR FRIENDS OF MAODS,

FIRST AND FOREMOST, I WANT TO SEND A HUGE THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US ON THE COMMITTEE TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT AND DEDICATION TO OUR MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS TRULY MEAN THE WORLD TO US. WE KNOW TIMES AREN’T EASY, AND YOUR CONTINUED ENTHUSIASM LIFTS US MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE.

EARLIER THIS YEAR, WE TOOK ON THE EXCITING CHALLENGE OF BRINGING GHOST - THE MUSICAL TO THE GEORGE LAWTON HALL. TACKLING A SHOW WITH SUCH BIG TECHNICAL DEMANDS WITHOUT A MASSIVE WEST END BUDGET WAS A BIT DAUNTING, BUT THANKS TO THE HARD WORK AND DEDICATION OF OUR AMAZING PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL TEAMS, IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! FOLLOWING THAT, WE BROUGHT YOU SISTER ACT LATER IN 2024, AND WE WERE OVER THE MOON TO HEAR MANY OF YOU SAY IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN SOME WEST END PRODUCTIONS YOU’VE SEEN! AT MAODS, WE ALWAYS AIM FOR EXCELLENCE AND LOVE PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES TO BRING FRESH, EXCITING SHOWS TO OUR COMMUNITY. REST ASSURED, WE’RE COMMITTED TO CONTINUING THAT TRADITION IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

NOW, I’M THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE WHAT’S COMING UP FOR 2025! WE’VE GOT TWO FANTASTIC PRODUCTIONS LINED UP: ANNIE - THE MUSICAL IN APRIL AND CALENDAR GIRLS IN NOVEMBER. WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE, ENJOYING ANOTHER YEAR OF WONDERFUL THEATER!

I’M ALSO DELIGHTED TO SHARE THAT 2024 HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE YEAR FOR OUR NEXT GENERATION YOUTH THEATRE. OUR YOUNG STARS ARE ABSOLUTELY BLOSSOMING UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE NXG TEAM. JUST TO HIGHLIGHT A COUPLE OF THEIR FANTASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS: CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY PLAYED TO A PACKED HOUSE AT OUR MILL THEATRE, AND THEIR PERFORMANCE OF WICKED AT THE LOWRY SHOWCASE RECEIVED RAVE REVIEWS.

AND THE EXCITEMENT DOESN’T STOP THERE! NXG WILL BE RETURNING TO THE LOWRY SHOWCASE ON JUNE 25 WITH CHICAGO, AND THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY BUZZING TO DELIVER THIS INCREDIBLE PRODUCTION. ADDITIONALLY, THEY’LL BE BRINGING NEWSIES TO LIFE AT OUR STUDIO THEATRE IN THE MILL. WE CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO SEE THE ENERGY AND TALENT THESE YOUNG PERFORMERS BRING TO THE STAGE!

MAODS, Woodend Mill, 1 Manchester Road, Mossley, OL5 9RR | Registered Charity Number 1160167 Hon Treasurer: Samuel Maurice | 07860 525931 | sammaurice@hotmail.com

FINALLY, I WANT TO TAKE A MOMENT TO GIVE A MASSIVE SHOUT-OUT TO OUR VOLUNTEERS. YOU ARE TRULY THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE MAODS FAMILY. YOUR PASSION, CREATIVITY, AND COUNTLESS HOURS OF HARD WORK MAKE EVERYTHING WE DO POSSIBLE. THE STANDING OVATIONS AND GLOWING REVIEWS WE RECEIVE ARE ALL THANKS TO YOUR DEDICATION.

AS WE MOVE FORWARD, LET’S KEEP IN MIND THAT IT’S OUR COMMUNITY’S SUPPORT THAT KEEPS THE MAGIC OF LIVE THEATER ALIVE. YOUR ENTHUSIASM INSPIRES NOT JUST US BUT ALSO THE NEXT GENERATION OF PERFORMERS.

THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE MAODS JOURNEY. HERE’S TO MANY MORE AMAZING PRODUCTIONS TOGETHER!
