The Giving Hands Mission Report and Accounts for the Year Ended 31 December 2023 The trustees present their report along with the financial statements for the year ended 31 December, 2023. ORGANISATIONAL STRucfuRE The Giving Hands Mission Is a charitable incorporated organisation. The trustees adopted the constitution on 23 January 2015 in accordance with the 'Association Model, published by the Charity Commission. The Givlng Hands Mission is established for charitable purposes for the public benefit and entered onto the Register of charities on 24 January 2015 with the Registered Charity Number 1160134. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The trustees meet on a regular basis. The board of trustees have a broad range of skills represented in education, social work and service to the community. The Board of Trustees have overall responsibility for the dlrection, management and control of the charlty. The board shall comprlse of no fewer than three members, maximum of twelve members. At the period end there were four members, all of whom are unpald. The board have the power to appoint a member at any tirne to fill a casual vacancy or as an addition to the existlng members. Members would be appolnted according to thelr relevant skills, competencies and experience. A member can retire at any polnt by reslgnlng hls office in writing. The charity trustees will make available to each new charity trustee, on or before hls or her first appolntment: (a) a copy of this constitution and any amendments made to it: and (b) a copy of the CIO'S latest trustees. annual report and statement of accounts. If the CIO is wound up, the members of the CIO have no liablllty to Contribute to its assets and no personal responslblllty for settling its debts and Ilabllitie5. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES l. For the public benefit, the relief of poverty throughout England and Wales by providing Item and services to Indlviduals in need, training, money and debt management counselllng, pastoral care and counselling to enable them generate a sustainable income, be self-sufficient and gain employment. 2. For the publSc beneflt, the advancement of the Christian religion throughout England and Wales by encouraging and facllitating its practice among existing followers or adherents, providing places of worshlp, raising awareness and understanding of Chrlstian beliets, carrying out devotional acts. misslonary and outreach work.

ACHIEVEMENT, PERFORMANCE AND VOLUNTEERS Overall, as at December 2023 we have supported up to 12,820 people. In the financial year ended 31 December, 2023; we continued our work assiduously In the fight against the rislng cost of living, rislng food and energy costs and especially its efferts on the people in our local community. In various ways, we supported up to 1,300 people, including families wlth children. In addition, we prevented 61 households from being made homeless, totalling 244 people. 820/0 of our service users were helped food, toiletries, clothlng and household item5. 28% were glven sleeping bags, mattresses, and beddings. 25 % we provided advlce or referred to partner agencles for speciallsed support. As a way of reaching out to families in need that have children, 24% were helped with the provlslon of toys. lOO¢y of the referring organizations that work with us report that the support provided by us has made a positlve Impact on the lives of their cllents. The following is a summary of the statistics of people we supported In 2023: 281)h were homeless or at risk of being homeless, 36% were rough sleepers, 88% were unemployed, 43010 had debt Issues, 15010 were fleeing domestic violence or leaving hostels, 280/0 had a disablllty and 17% had mental health issues. 96% of the people we have supported are families in need, living below the poverty line. The percentage of people supported; Female 680/0, Male 32%. We had up to I I committed volunteers that helped us In carrying out this work. Our volunteers are experienced, well trained and dedicated. As part of our core values, we operate to demonstrate the unconditlonal love and compasslon of Jesus Christ by reaching out to help those individuals and families in crisis. We are committed to Improving the quality of Ilfe of people irrespective of religion, race, gender, age and sexual orientation. PUBLIC BENEFIT Under the Charities Art 2011, charities are requlred to demonstrate that thelr aims are for the public benefit. The two key principles which must be met in thls context are, first, that there must be an Identiflable benefit or benefits; and secondly, that the benefit must be to the public, or a section of the public. Charity trustees must ensure that they carry out their charity's aims for the public benefit, must have regard to the Charity Commission's guidance, and must report on public benefit In thelr Annual Report. The charities board of trustees regularly rnonitors and reviews the success of the organisation -In meeting its key objertives of relleving poverty. The Trustees confinn, in the Ilght of the guidance, that these aims fully meet the public benefit test and that all the activities of the charity, described In the Report of the Trustees, are undertaken in pursuit of these aims. The charity trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guldance on public benefit published by the Charities Commisslon. FINANCIAL REVIEW The charities total incoming resources for the year £22,978. The total resources expended by the charity £24,502 whlch represent the costs Incurred to enable the charity to carry out its operations. The charlty had a net of payments of £1,524. RESERVES AND GOING CONCERN In line with our Christian values, we believe In the exerclslng of Falth In the area of provlslon. The trustees will continue to act prudently in the financial management of the charity and aim to subsequently develop a policy on reserves as our finances improve. Our reserve policy will be to maintain sufficient reserves at all time.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND INTERNAL CONTROL The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensurlng that the organisation operates an appropriate system of controls, finanaal and otherwise, to provlde reasonable assurance that the charity is operating efficiently and effectively, proper records are maintained and financial information, used within the charlty or for publication is reliable and that the charity complies with relevant laws and regulations. They do thls by reviewlng the up to date financlal information of the charity including a review of its financlal procedures and identifying and managing risks that the charlty IS exposed to. SERIOUS INCIDENTS The Trustees confirm that there are no serlous Inddents to report regarding operations In 2023. PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS The key priority for the coming year wlll be to make thls project achleve more of the planned outcome and to remain on the frontllne in the fight against the rising cost of living as it continues to be felt in our local community. We remaln committed in helplng local people in need, especially the elderly* the homeless and people living In poverty. The key outcome is to help and support our sep41ce users to develop their independence, Increase thelr ability to tackle setbacks, and generally to have better lives. Thus enabling our service users to become healthier, more resilient, more active and productive In the community. TRUSTEES RESPONSIBIUTIES IN RELATION TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requlres the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which glve a true and fair view of the charlty's financial activities during the year and of its finanoal position at the end of the year. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently: make Judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applScable accountln9 Standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed subject to any departures dlsdosed and explained In the flnanclal statements; and prepare the financlal statements on the golng concern basls unless It is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records whlch disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posltlon of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financlal statements comply with the Charities Art. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence ft)r taking reasonable steps for the preventlon and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
