The charity Trustees, Patrons, Ambassadors, Attachés, Volunteers and Supporters plan, organise and hold fundraising ‘cabaret’ events in bars, nightclubs and theatres in London, Brighton, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Newcastle Upon Tyne/South Shields and in Kent, to help us provide financial support and wellbeing to people and their families living with cancer.

Money raised is given to our beneficiaries in the form of grants ranging from £100 - £500, depending on circumstance and need, to support them with living costs, travel, medication, household goods, bills, mortgage payments, funeral costs or a treat to raise their spirits (that they could otherwise not afford) such as a short break away to relieve the additional stress being experienced whilst living with and fighting cancer – to make it ‘less of a drag’ than it already is.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

We receive many donations through PayPal Giving Fund from various platforms such as Facebook Campaigns, Virgin Money Giving & Just Giving Funds.

We have supported people living with cancer to access our grant giving by visiting them in their own home when necessary, meeting them at local hospitals, chatting directly by phone and through our Facebook Page on social media. To make life easier for our beneficiaries we provide paid postage and ‘bank transfer’ grants if the money is needed urgently.

We have made a new partnership/connection with the charity younglivesvscancer.org.uk and attended group meetings on zoom as well as Click to Collect Clothing.

We continue to donate to our supporters’ fundraising schemes in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and held a special fundraiser just for them in October. Our Trustees continue to support the work of Macmillan in many ways.

## **Additional details of Objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Achievements and performance

## Section D

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

In 2022, like 2020/21, due to the effects of the last two years of ‘pandemic’ we still struggled a little with Fundraising events, but things did improve and we managed to raise just over £11,000, which is a much better amount than the last two years.

Our new yearly Event for Macmillan Cancer Support – A Coffee Cocktail Cabaret Evening was unfortunately cancelled and will now go ahead next year at The Raven, Tower Bridge, a new venue that is now supporting us.

We have raised just over £1,200 through Amazon Europe Core, Virgin Money Giving, JustGiving & PayPal Giving Fund Campaigns.

Click and Collect Clothing donated £3,958.

Our Ambassador in the north of England (Newcastle Upon Tyne/South Shields) raised just over £1,750 from fundraising events he organised for us.

Our Ambassador in London raised just over £1,100 from fundraising for us by a sponsored walk of ‘The Camino De Santiago’.

Our Liverpool Ambassador raised £1085 for us.

Of this money raised, we have provided our beneficiaries with a range of financial grants to the total of just under £5000.

We sell our own logo t-shirts at events, together with our logo pin-badges and are in the process of setting up an online shop on our website to sell new merchandise to boost our fundraising.

We have strong connections at Macmillan Cancer Support, Guy’s & Kings College Hospitals, Young Lives vs Cancer & St. Paul’s House, Click and Collect Clothing, Live Through This & Chelsea’s Angels Children’s Cancer Charity (for whom we provided various items required for their Christmas Boxes).
