The charity Trustees, Patrons, Ambassadors, Attachés, Volunteers and Supporters plan, organise and hold fundraising ‘cabaret’ events in bars, nightclubs and theatres in London, Brighton & Portsmouth to help us provide financial support and wellbeing to people and their families living with cancer.

Money raised is given to our beneficiaries in the form of grants ranging from £100 - £500, depending on circumstance and need, to support them with living costs, travel, medication, household goods, bills, mortgage payments, funeral costs or a treat to raise their spirits (that they could otherwise not afford) such as a short break away to relieve the additional stress being experienced whilst living with and fighting cancer – to make it ‘less of a drag’ than it already is.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

We receive many donations through PayPal Giving Fund from various platforms such as Facebook Campaigns, Virgin Money Giving & Just Giving Funds.

We have supported people living with cancer to access our grant giving by visiting them in their own home when necessary, meeting them at local hospitals, chatting directly by phone and through our Facebook Page on social media. To make life easier for our beneficiaries we provide paid postage and ‘bank transfer’ grants if the money is needed urgently.

This year, due to the ‘pandemic’, we have not been able to hold many fundraising events, our 2nd Drag-O-Vision had to be cancelled as too did our part in the Brighton Marathon & London Pride Parade. Our Founder started raising funds by doing Virtual Bingo on Zoom. We continued to buy Christmas gifts for children and young adults living with cancer.

We have made new partnership/connections with livethroughthis.co.uk and chelseasangels.co.uk whilst continuing to donate to our supporters fundraising schemes in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research. Our Trustees continue to support the work of Macmillan in many ways.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

In 2020, due to the ‘pandemic’ our Fundraising events were mainly organised by the Trustees, as opposed to our Patrons, Ambassadors and amazing family of friends and supporters. We still managed to raise £3,750, which is over half the amount from last year. Our new Event for Valentine’s Night (held before the pandemic hit) at The Village Hotel, Portsmouth raised over £2,500.

We have raised over £2,000 through Virgin Money Giving, JustGiving & PayPal Giving Fund Campaigns. Personal donations by cheque totalled over £1,500. Due to the ‘pandemic’ our Founder took it upon himself to fundraise by holding weekly Sunday Virtual Bingo on Zoom with friends and supporters and was even asked to do a private one for Hair Organics. From these he managed to raise £475!

Of this money raised, we have provided our beneficiaries with a range of financial grants to the total of just under £3,000.

We sell our own logo t-shirts at events, together with our logo pin-badges and are in the process of setting up an online shop on our website to sell new merchandise to boost our fundraising.

We have a fantastic relationship with The Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London, holding at least two big fundraisers there per year, with them also fundraising on our behalf during their Christmas Pantomimes. We now have supporters organising events on the south coast of England (Brighton & Portsmouth) and in Kent.

Our Ambassador’s Christmas song raised more money this year and we released an album to tie in with our 2nd Drag-O-Vision (although the event itself could not happen). We have strong connections at Macmillan Cancer Support, Guy’s & Kings College Hospitals, CLIC Sargent & St. Paul’s House, Live Through This & Chelsea’s Angels Children’s Cancer Charity (for whom we provided various items required for their Christmas Boxes).
