undertake.The trustees believe that the charitgs accounts demonstrate that it acts for the public benefit.
ACHIKVEMENT ATr4D PERFORMANCE
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Mu%ic {ARRSM} and The Commonwealth Resounds launched the Play
On fund in January 2023 to support music
making initiativcs worldwide. Administered by The Commonwealth
Resound, Play On has a]ready begun to nMkB 71 5ignifLGant impact by providing fjnancial support to a diverse rallge of
organisation8 Outside of the UK. In 2023, the Play On fund has generously 8upported ten inspiring groups that are
making a positive diffErencc in their communities through music.
In collaboration with UK con8ervatories and specialist m￿lC schoo]4 w¢ took sev¢ral musicians to Antigua and
Barbuda in July 2023 to share our musical experi￿C$ ay)d support the nurturillg of young musical tslent on these
islands.
We launehed thc Commonwealth Music Relay project, a musical challenge for all Commonwealth countries. Later tllls
year in Octobcr 2024, & small group of mUSSGians Thiu b¢ travelling to Samoa for CHOGM 2024 to witness the fu￿1
perf0m￿nCe of the Com￿OnWe81th Music Relay.
Agaiu we have organisEd musicians for various events ￿llded by the Commonwealth SecretariaL and sinGc the year end
we also yupported the Royal Commonwealth Society and Westminst¢r Abbey by providing musicians for
Con)monwealth Day 2024. We helped them to prepare their rnusical programmes and volulltarily a8sist¢d them with all
logi5tic$ for the event.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
During the y¢ar to 10 December 2023 the charity had total incorne of £85,829 (2022.. £32,949) total exp¢uditur¢ of
£65,494 {2022.' £40,077) glvillg net income of £20,335 for the year 12022.. net deficit £7,128) &8 shown on the
Statement of FitYdAcial Activitie8 on page 3 of the aicoullts.
At the year ¢nd the charity h¢ld total fund8 of £23,151 (2022.. £2,816).

I report in respect of my examination of the Tn]st's accounis catTied out under S¢ction 145 of the Act and in carrying out
my examination J have followed all applicable Direction$ giv￿ by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of

Basls of preparing the financial statements
The f]nancial statements of the charity, which i8 a public bencfit c￿lty under FRS 102. have been prepared itt
accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Praclice applicable to clMTities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK alld Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effe¢tive I January 2019),,
Fitt#n¢ial Reporting St￿]dard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK aThl RepubliG of
Ireland, ar￿ the Charities Act 201 l. The finaJKial ststements have been prq)arcd UDd¢r the hist0T1￿1 cos¢
convcntion.
Income
All income is recognised in the Stat¢m¢nt of Financial Activities once the charity h88 entitlement to the fjjnds, it
is probabl¢ that the income wyll be received and the amount can be measured rEliably.
Expenditure
Liabilities are re¢ogDised a5 ¢xp¢nditur¢ as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the
charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic beneftts will be r¢quired in settlement and
the amount of the Obl￿atIon can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accNals basis and has
been classilied under headings that aggregate all ¢o&t related to th¢ ¢Jtegory. Where costs ¢￿￿0t be directly
attributed to particular headings Lhey hitv¢ allocat¢d to ￿tivItIeS on a basis consistellt with the use of
resources.
Taxation
The charlty is exempt from tax on its ¢horitable acti￿ties.
