The Word International Church
Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 30th September 2022
The Word International Church continue to maintain its Objectives in the spread of the Christian faith at home here in the UK and abroad. We also continue to work in our local community by meeting the immediate needs we can within our limited funding and also limited accessibility to a building space to perform our functions.
Family life is key at The Word International Church. Every second Sunday is dedicated to family life and we call our special service every second Sunday of the month, ‘Friends and Family Sunday.” The sermons on those Sundays focuses on the Christian and his family life, community life and work life. We also have a Sunday School where the children in the church are taught Bible stories and morals are drawn from the stories teaching the fear and love for God, respect for God’s laws and from those in authority in the land and love and respect for one another.
Fasting and prayer we do from time to time in our Church. We believe in both its spiritual and health benefits. We deed one at the beginning of January 2022 and another from 27th June 2022 to 1st July 2022. It is a time of consecration, repentance and meditation to God. A time to ask God for forgiveness of all wrongs and to rededicate our lives to God to live a better Christ-like life before God and mankind. It Is a time to remind us to be helpful, charitable and respectful to our fellowman. The benefits of fasting was taught that it was not only a spiritual thing but intermittent fasting is also good for physical health.
The calendar continues with Mother’s Day on Sunday 27th March 2022. The Men organized Mother’s Day last year and this 2019. It was always a time to appreciate the mothers in the Church with gifts and testimonies from their husbands and children for all the things they did for their family that year. As a Church we appreciate motherhood and always celebrate it. It is part of our family life. After the Church celebration the mothers continue to be celebrated with dinners and other outdoor celebrations.
Easter was also celebrated last week in March until the 1st of April 2018. Celebrating our Lord’s resurrection and the passion week is a sacred time in our Christian Calendar. We celebrated Palm Sunday with Palms and hymns and spiritual songs. Good Friday and Easter Sunday was celebrated with hymns and the Holy Communion.
The Women’s Fellowship celebrated their Women’s Convention on the 7th & 8th of May 2022. The women of the church studied about women in the Bible and how they contributed to society and were influential in community life. They were encouraged to do the same. We hope to continue with our Men’s Group next year. Since our Men’s leader died due to COVID the men have not been able to come back together.
Our pastor made a mission’s trip to Sierra Leone to train our church leaders in Sierra Leone and another to Brazil for the same purpose. We are also a part of an umbrella Christian ministry called Multiply Leader’s Network. He joined them in conferences in Kenya, and Cape Town in South Africa.
We continue to save money for our building project and are still looking for a building which would be exclusively ours to do our charitable work. Our limited finance did not allowing us to do as much as we would like to do for our community but we hope to do much more in our next financial year.
