The Trustees for the year to 5 April 2024 were Rosemary Hyde (Chairl, Helen Munro and Rebecca
Parker.
The Principal Office is 11 Eskdale Lodge. Lexham Gardens. Amersham, HP6 5JJ.
The Bankers are Barclays PIC and the lTriestrnent Manager is Barclays Weatth.
The charivs totsl income for the year was £22.698 {£22,087 in 20221231 and its expendlture was
£27,2421£23,951 in 2022123). of which £25.9C8 was donated in grants and the balance of
expenditure of £1,333 was for odministratNe expenses. including the creation of a website. The
income. which is generated from the CIUS Investment portfollo. has shown a small growth this year,
as dividend receipts are slowty recovering after companies were forced to reduce dNidend payments
In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The overdll value of the investment portfolio has large
recovered the losses experienced in 202V23. rising to £776.171 from £728,074 in 2023.
The objects of charity are forthe relief of mentsl disorder or mental Impalrnient, including ￿searCh
into antenatal causes and the cure. treatment and care of infants. children and young persons
suffering from mentsl disorder or impaiment. Because fvnds for grants are limited, the Trustees
have decided as a matter of policy that grants should be restricted to beneficiaries who are children
aged 16 and under. A body seeking funding must therefore satisfy the Trustees that any grant will
be applied for the benefit of children in that category. Where a grant is sought for purposes which
would benefft children with physical disabilities as well as those with mental disabilities, at least 75%
of the proposed beneficiaries must be children suffering from mental disorder or impairment. The
Trustees also generally prefer to make grants for identtfied items of equipment, or specified material
projects. rather than to contribute to general running expenses.
Each application for a grant is considered by the charirfs adminisrrator. If it does not fall within the
haritvs objectives it is rejected. Those applications which are eligible for a gfant are considered at
one of the meetings of the trustees, which tske place twice a year. usually in June and December.
The trustees decide whlch applications best comply with their policy and make grants accordingly.
within their current financial resources from income on investments. Grants are made usually of
amounts between £5(K) and £3.(N)J.
The trustees, in making decisions about grants. had due regard to the commi55ion's publlc
benefft guidance. A totsl of 13 grants to charities were made for projects wh￿h met with the
trustees, approval, all within the t￿￿tee4 polioi as stated above. This compares to 9 grants
awarded in 2022123. Our grants induded funding for spetiali5t equipment. outdoor play. sensory
play equipment. craft material& perfomiing arts visits and day5 Out.
Alongside the consideration of grants. the Trustee5. who are responsible for the
management of the CIO'S investments. discuss With their advisers from Bardays Wealth the state of
the investment portfolio. and the level of investment risk acceptable.

The principal risk to the charity is loss in investment walue and income. and thls ￿ managed by usin8
the Barclays Wealth Advisory Investment Service which ha5 specialist investment advisers. The
trustees are satisfied that the charitrfs risk management p)Iy and procedures adequate￿ address
the risks to the charity arising from its attriities.
The investment policy 15 to maintsin both the capitsl value of the portfolio and the income yield and
the management policy is to use the net income available to meet suitable applications for grants.
