advance the education of the public in the
arts and in particular the arts of speech and
drama, dance and music and other
performing arts. To further the Purpose of
the Festival it shall have the following
powers:
To hold or promote annual competitive
festivals.
To present and promote public
performances, concerts, and recitals.
To affiliate to the British and International
Federation of Festivals and to further the
charitable purposes of this federation.
To do all such other lawful things as are
necessary to the attainment of the
Purposes of the Festival.
Nothing in this constitution shall authorise
an application of the property of the CIO for
the purposes which are not charitable in
accordance with [section 7 of the Charities
and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act
2005] and [section 2 of the Charities Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008].
