The charity also sponsored an annual undergraduate research symposlum organlsed by the Jaffna Medical Faculty to encourage medlcal students to pursue research activities. It sponsored JMFOA Intematlonal Event and UnNersity of Jaffna 501h annlversary celebrallons - RCFMJ - the Research Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, Jaffna {Evidence-based cancer control strategles for the NP) from the 15th to 251h of August 2024 wlth Duke NUS. The Royal College of Surgeons has recognlsed the Jaffna Medrcal Faculty as a regional training centre In South AsSa. The Jaffiia Medical Faculty Overseas Alumnl UK supported postgraduate surgical training in Srl Lanka by sponsoring two Baslc Surgical Skllls courses and one Clinical Laparoscopic Skills (x)urse for surglcal tralnees. Slmilarfy. JMFOA Introduced PACES (part of MRCP) mock exam technlques and preparation for postgraduate trainee d¢Ktors at Jaffna and Batticaloa teaching hospitals in Sri Lanka, as an educational activity for doctors. We continued our monthly educational webinars on different topics for our members without interTuption, ensuring thelr continuous engagement with our wor This year, we also continued our monthly JMFOA hikes, a speclal hlka in May 2025, our book dub, and the Mohan Memorial Sodal event for our members and their familles of the charity. Can￿r Is a major cause of earfy death In Sri Lanka, wÈth most oral and breast cancers detected only at advanced stages. To address this, JMFOA UK and its international chapters, together with Jaffna Teaching Hospital and the Jaffna Medical Faculty, launched a fve-year programme in April 2025 to Improve early detectton and prevention of oral, breast, and cervical cancers in the communty. The Initiative began In the Kllinochchi distrlct and focuses on community awareness, screenlng, and educatton to reduce late-stage diagnoses and save lives.

The charity working wlth Ihe Faculty of Medlclne, Unlverslty of Jaffna, Is rolllng out a five-year Substance Use Preventlon Programme In January 2025, In response to rlslng unhealthy behavlours and substance use among youths In the North and Easl of Srl Lanka. The Initlatlve tralns secondary school teachers uslng WHO4leveloped Manoharl Ilfe-skllls modules, enabling them to gulde thelr students in building resillence and maklng healthy cholces. The programme also strengthens parenting skllls and famlly relatlonshlps, recognlslng the vital role of support5ve home envlronments In prolecting young people. Through thls coordinated, evldence-based and sustainable approach, JMFOA UK and Its global chapters aim to nurture a healthy, motlvated and drug-free generatlon. The necessary funds for these significant projects were raised through our charity's public fundrak8ing musical events in the UK and in Dortmund, Germany, and through our partlcipation in the Edlnburgh Marathon Festival. Two local charitles - BUDS and Enlightenment Circle contributed financially to th8 Substance Use Prevention Program. INDEPENDEIYT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEESI MEMBERS OF JAFFNA MEDICAL FACULTY OVERSEAS ALUMNI W¢ report on the Accounts of the Trust for the year ended 30 June 2025, which are set out on pages 4 to 6. RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF REPORT As the C.harity'9 Trnstees yoii are re8pnn8ible for the prep2ration of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act"). We report in respect of our examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out our examinatioN we have followed all the appllcable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. IIYDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENr We have completed our examination. We confirn] that no n￿terial matters have come to our attention in connection with the examination giving us cause to believe that in, any material respect: accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act, OT the accounts did not accord with the accounting records. or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the foam and content of accounts set out in the Charities Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that th¢ accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. We have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this rewrt in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
