Held a General Meeting in March 2021 (via Zoom due<br>to Covid restrictioins) covering the following<br>discussion points:<br>•Charity Commission administration / Policies /<br>Monitoring<br>•Financial situation / fundraising initiatives<br>•Membership<br>•Publicity / newsletter / website<br>•Fundraising and social events<br>2. Held Annual General Meeting in April 2021.  This was<br>via Zoom due to Covid restrictions<br>3. No further formal meetings or fund-raising events<br>were held during the period due to Covid restrictions<br>and the availability of time for Trustees who were<br>prioritising their time to their own personal and work<br>commitments.  Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and<br>Secretary kept in touch during this time.|

|Policy on grant making|Para 1.38|There has been no need to amend the Grant Giving<br>Policy which remains in place as follows:<br>**Priorities for support**<br>The number of individuals and groups which can be<br>supported is, of necessity, limited to the amount of<br>funds available for distribution in any year. The<br>Trustees have determined that the priorities for<br>funding over the next years will be:<br>•Schools serving socially deprived communities<br>(Informed by school %FSM & WIMD).<br>•Assisting children and young people in attending<br>centre for whom the charges may be prohibitive.<br>**Principles**<br>•Grants are given in the form of subsidies to groups on<br>the fees charged by Storey Arms.<br>•Only groups of young people from Cardiff or the Vale<br>of Glamorgan are eligible for subsidies.<br>•Maximum amount for any one individual is the full<br>course fee.<br>**Grant application process**<br>•Subsidies are offered at the point of enquiry about a<br>booking, through discussion with the Head of Centre.<br>•Where a subsidy is granted the booking letter has the<br>statement “with support from the Friends of Storey<br>Arms” included in it.<br>•The trustees are happy to receive requests in writing.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.2|Due to the closure of the Storey Arms Outdoor Education<br>Centre for much of the reporting period, there was no<br>request from the Head of Centre for funds to assist<br>attending pupils and schools.<br>The charity made further funds available (from existing)<br>allowing work to continue on the landscaping project at<br>the Storey Arms Centre.  The plans for this project were<br>funded in 2019/20 but work was delayed due to the<br>pandemic.<br>Once the centre re-opened after the Covid restrictions<br>were relaxed, the sale of neck scarves continued as it<br>had left off, proving very popular amongst visitors.|

## **Financial Review** 

|Review of the charity’s<br>financial position at the end<br>of the period|Para 1.21|Due to the continuing Covid restrictions, we suspended<br>our fund-raising activities for the whole of the 2020/21<br>period.<br>The Storey Arms Centre was also closed to visitors for<br>some of the period and this limited opportunities for<br>merchandise sales and other donations.<br>With the allocation of some funds towards the<br>landscaping project, this means that we finished the<br>period with a small deficit.|
