Aim and Pu
Birniingham Zion Church of the Nazarene Board of Trustees has the reswnsibility of
working with the Pastor Gabriel Modesto (and in 2024 Rev. Jacqueline Joseph) to
advance the Chrislian Faith as part of the International and UK Church of the
Na72rene, in promoling the whole mission of the Church in Handsworth,
Birniingham.
Ob"ectives and Activilies
The Trustees have the primary objective of enabling as niany people as possible to
have access to the teaching and practice of the Christian Faith and to be slrengthened
in their faith with acts of worship. prayer. fellowship and study of the scriptures. The
Trustees are commilled to continue to adjust and improve the service& activities and
facilities to allow everyone to fellowship ts)gether and be built up in their Christian
Faith.
The benefit of the local community is always a considerntion for the Tn￿e¢s. tK)th
through church ministry and making the church building available to local agencies
who are seeking to benefit the local community such as the NHS and allowing other
churches to rent the building for theii meelings.
We seek to help people find faith and live it out in the community through:
Worship, Prayer and Bible Swdy.
Pastoral care of the church community and those of the wider community who come
to our church week by week.
Mi&sionary and ￿treach worL globally and locally.
Achievements and Perforniance

During this period the nornial worship and other services have been taking place
together with sFcial monthly meetings with visiting sp￿erS and singers.
Pa%loral Care
Regular meelings for prayer and Bible Study have been held in the church and online
in midweek to supp)rt everyone and encourage their faith.
Building and Mainlenance Repair 2nd maintenance work on the buildings has Iwi
carried out together with necessary decoraiion.

Mission and Evangelum
A total of £550 was sent to the Na7Arene Worldwide Evangeli72tion Fund in this
period.
Financial Review
Total receipts ts) unrestricted funds were £38.603. £24.712 of this was from Tithes
and Offerings. £?.779 w&s received for restricted fimds as detailed in the financial
statements.
£46,223 was spent to provide the Christian ministry from Birniingham Zion Church
of the Na72rene including the contribution of £1.450 to the Nazarene British Isles
Southern Dislrici which helps support the wider church organlzation in the UK.
The net result for this peri(xl was an excess of payments over receipts of £4,842.
Unrestricted fund balance carried forward on Septrmber 30 was £3 ?02 and £859 in
restricted funds.
Reserves wlicy
The Trustees policy is to maintain a balance of £1 O.(KM) on unrestricted fimds (if
possible) for contingencies. Tr unrestricted fimd balance was £3.202 on septern￿r
30 2023. We intend to restore these reserves as activity hoFfully increases in 2023 -
2024
Volunteers
The Trustees want to thank everyone. members and friends who have given of their
time. talents and financial suptx)rt for the work of The Lord to enable the ministry
here to continue in Handsworth. Birniingham.
Structure. governance and management
Birniingham Zion Church of the Nazarene is a CIO and is governed by the rules of
the Governing tknument approved by the Charity Commission in January 2015,
which is based on the Manual of the Global Church of the Nazarene where UK law
rniits. Application for Membership of the CIO and appointment of Charity Trustees
is described in the Governing Document.
The Charity T￿￿teeS manage the affairs of the CIO and may for pury￿Se exercise
all the ￿werS of the CIO tncluding how the funds of the CIO are to be s￿nt. The
Charity Trustees are elected or re-elecknl annually or biennially by the rnem￿rs of
Binningham Zion Church of the Na7arene at the AGM. The Pastor &s well as NYI.
NMI and Sunday School ofificers are ex-oificio T￿￿tees.
