Summary of the purposes of Para 1.17 The objects of the Charitable incorporated
the charity as set out in its Organisation, operating as part of the Trussell
governing document Trust Foodbank Network, are the prevention or
relief of poverty in Nuneaton and surrounding
areas, but not exclusively, by providing
emergency food supplies to individuals in need
and/or charities, or other organisations
working to prevent or relieve poverty. Such
charitable purposes for the public benefit are
exclusively charitable, according to the laws of
England and Wales, as the trustees may from
time to time determine. The primary activity of
the charity is to provide food to people in crisis
in Nuneaton and the surrounding area.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 Nuneaton Foodbank increased the money
in the bank by the end of 2023 even though
it was an expensive year, needing to buy
food at the rate of £3,000 monthly in order
to satisfy unprecedented demand.
Fortunately, we applied for and received
grants which more than covered the
expense. We ended the year in a secure
financial situation.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 Reserves are required to pay for the
situation if the Foodbank had to close.
Reserves are calculated as the expenses
that are incurred for 3 months warehousing,
staff and transport, also to pay for possible
redundancy of our employee.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 £18,254
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 Not applicable
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24 None
Explanation of any
uncertainties about the
charity continuing as a going
concern
Para 1.23 We continue to spend over £3,000 monthly
to buy food in addition to our regular
monthly ongoing costs of £5,500. We
depend on grants to continue providing the
service that is needed. We do have bank
savings that would enable us to continue
for a while without the grants so there are
no imminent threats to continuing.
