Since its inception the achievement of the charity’s primary objective in the promotion of the availability of community defibrillators is evident from the number now installed in the local area. Some were provided by the charity; some have beena joint effort, facilitated by the charity; and others have been provided by local councils and community groups who have self-funded. Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity curing the yoor During 2024 the charity maintained its review of the status of all installed units and cabinets under its direct control. With around 20 units it was confirmed that there is a continuing ongoing responsibility to provide for the future, both financially and in maintenance activities. During the year 7 units required the replacement of pads and/or batteries at a cost of £1129. The charity has been fortunate in obtaining grant support from the local council towards this cost together with donations from local councillor discretionary funds. The result was that all of the existing public accessible defibrillators continued to be secure and available for use.

Having achieved a reasonable coverage of installed units in the town/seafront area, the charity is now looking to increase coverage in purely residential areas. To further this aim, the charity funded two more installations during 2024 located in residential areas and is planning to continue this policy in 2025.

The resulting publicity was taken up by Radio Devon, including a live interview, and resulted in an excellent attendance at the associated training/awareness session for the local residents.
