To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects, in particular with relation to organ music and the works of J.S. Bach, by any means as the trustees see fit, including: the presentation of public concerts and recitals; the use of music, drama, dance and literature to share culture and artistic experiences; the creation of new music and making it available through performances, recordings and publications
Pieces from The Orgelbüchlein Project continue to enrich concerts and liturgies around the world. Eg in concerts and services at Oslo, Vâsterås , and Uppsala Cathedrals, Garnisons Church Copenhagen, St Albans Abbey, Exeter Cathedral, Lincoln’s Inn. The education of musicians young and old has continued through masterclasses, eg at the Vestfold Organ Festival and City of London School. Pieces from the project find themselves in exam syllabuses (eg RCO ARCO syllabus) and are used as pedagogical stepping stones. A complete performance of The Orgelbüchlein Project was given in London over the weekend of September 24-25, 2023. This was promoted by the Royal College of Organists, and given widespread media coverage (Radio 4 Today programme, R3 Music Matters, New York Times, Sunday Times). It involved nine players and various other ensembles. Many hundreds of people came to these free events. Volume 3 of the printed scores was launched at this time and has sold well across the world. The website has been further developed, with much new publicly available material, and continues to provide a resource for composers, scholars and players. The trustees have continued to observe the guidance on public benefit of the charity and act wherever possible to the furtherance of these ~~aims.~~
The continued promotion of Orgelbüchlein Project, and Bach, through performances, education events, broadcasts, videos, and web-presence. The enrichment of musical culture across the world and in the UK in particular though the creation of new music. Fundraising target for Volume 1 achieved.
