All befrienders have been tlirough an interview process with r¢feren¢es being
taken up, and a Disclosiire aiid Bai'ring Service clie¢k. Tliei'e is ali indiiction

and Inoving and handling Ii'aiiiii?g.

Woolion,Livetpool, we were able to take on a young sixth forin studeiil who
specifically cxpress¢d inteiEst to gaitt woi'k exp¢rtellce as a volujiteei.. This was
facilitated after one of oiir Befi'iender (MS) agreed to supeivi.qc her visits to the
beiieficiary ac¢oiiipaiiied ,at all times.we followed all tl)e safeguai'diiig aiid
other lorinalities. We expeot to receive a formal feedback from th¢ Studeiit and
tlie Scliool.

All befrienders iindergo Safeguarding Ti'aiiiiiig before they can be matched
with 4 ben¢fic1￿y. Befrienders also offcred Basic First Aid, Awareiiess and
moving and handling ti'aining. One volllllteer has completed mtnibus ti'aining.

Safeguardillg refresher course '.
On 0111112025 by Dr Sunandini Sethurainan, Current NHS SHfegaurding lead for
Seftoi), Liverpool made a presentation . Tliis was a coinprehensive session on all
aspect s of safeguarding with opportunities for Ilie attendees to llltei'a¢t and sl)are
their experiences. The feedback was very p)silive from the attendees. We are
platmlng a Refresher coui'se in Spring of 2026, with a First aid trainillg also
included . This will b¢ direeted to those wlio were unable to attend this meeting.
