All befrienders have been through an intavlew process with references being taken lip, and a Disclosure and Baiiing Service check. Th¢r¢ is an induction procedure which includes safeguardllig training, with the opportunity for fii3t aid and moving and handlii)g ti'aining. In addition to the befrienders, there are a numbei. of volunteer roles within the charity such as admin siipport, interviewing pot¢iitial befriendei'5 and beiieflcitsries. matching befriendei's lo beneficiaries, driving, fwidraisiiig. manning the phones, working QTJ the website, pi'omotion and events, pi'oject work and tiustees. Three of our TIv5tees Mr William Bethell , Mr Fl'ank Sholtei. and Mr Mohaii Samant have resigned from tlie board of Tiiistees for peLEoiial reasons. They will however, continue as Befrienderslfriends of the Charity. BeneficTaries There are 40 beneficiai'ies being visited on a weekly basis. They enjoy a variety of activities sucli as home visits, chui'Gh visits, dancing, shopping and ti'ips out.
Loc*1 aetivities .Minl Bus project: The charity oi'ganized 2 sepa]ate meetings with members and organizations suoh as the Churches in Woolton, WooltonTitn¢s, Woolton Society and the local Councillors, with a view to gain agreement and coirnnitsnent to support and Source fiinding to pro¢ui'e a rniiii bus foi. use in tljc Communily. After much deliberation, it was decided that tliis joint initiative will be difficult to jU8tify in teims of ¢081 effectiveness. It was decided to revisit this issue in futuir. b.Charity Events: l.Volunteer evening 1110612022: Tbis was organized to continue to support encourag¢ and diank the Befrienders for their time given to the Charity. It was led by our Trustee Miss Ashton Tansey and the feedback was excellcnt with thc I'cqu¢st by many Volunl¢¢rs who attended, to liave similar Lneetings in future. 2.Garden party- On 1810612022, w¢ bad another Garden paty in the house of Mr Paul &Hel¢ll Ekoku. We had a biggei. attendan¢e this year. The feedback from befi-iendeTS and BenefIciai-ies has been fantasti¢. 3.Cream tea event. TlJis was oi'ganized by thc Chai'ity for the beneficiaries and befri¢ndcrs. It was well attended, live music aiid i'efi'eslllnent. Excellent fecdba¢k from the attendees. 4.Flute reeital on 3011112022 by a Flute band 'Flutiful' at no c08t to the Charity. It was greatly enjoyed and appreciated by the attendees enjoying Cliristiiias carol music and refresliment 'liome inade 'by Rebea Traynoi., oiie of oui. Nchyorking The Tivstees continue networking with foul- local Doctor Practices, three Churches in Woolton. Liveipool Hope UnIveily, the Society of St Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army at StrawbeiTy Fields, and local busin¢ss¢s. Training All befiienders undergo Safeguai'ding Training before they can be matched with a beneficiaiy. Befriendeis aiy also offered Basic First Aid Aw&reness and inoving and handling training. One volunte¢r has completed minibus training. Polleleg and Pi'ocedures All policies and procedures are in place, documented and in Som¢ ¢ases amended. Funding There have been generous donations and successful fundraising duiing the Ye., the detsils of which are in tlie financial repoTt. 10 Financial Revlew WCL has l)ealthy r¢s¢eS as at 31 Decemb¢r 2022, wl)i¢h suffi¢i¢nt to meet tbe charity's objectives. We are confident thei'efoi'e that we will continue to operate for the foreseeabl¢ futurc. Report to the trustees/ Charity Name members of WOOLTON COMMUNITY LIFE On accounts for the year 31 December 2022 Charity no 1159642 ended (if any) Set out on pages Five to Nine (including these pages ( I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2022.
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
