Annual Report from Ketton Sports and Community Centre.
Football, Cricket, Bowls, Tennis, Petanque, triathlon and indoor Sports of dominoes, pool & crib were all carried out and all fulfilled competitively with good results on all fronts.
Bowls had a full summer of competitive and friendly fixtures enjoyed by members new and old. Keep Fit Club and Healthy Walking Group meet weekly and both have a good following.
The Junior Triathlon Club has been a resounding success, winning several awards and have approximately 100 members aged from 4 years old upwards. Tennis and Cricket both have good junior sections, offering coaching most weeks of the season.
Cricket also provides competitive and social cricket for adults across a range of standards. The football club boasts a very successful womens team, mens veterans team and a growing junior section. The senior mens team returned to competitive football after folding the previous season, thanks to a merger with another local club.
The village school use our sports facilities for their sports day and other events such as Christmas party organised by the PTA.
Rutland County Council use the playing fields for their annual inter school orienteering event.
The building is being used by the local community for a number of events. We are getting a large number of bookings for children’s parties because the hall is large enough to have things like bouncy castles indoors. The number of wedding receptions being held in the building dipped a little this year, but plans are in place to improve.
We also hosted car boot sales on most bank holidays with monies used to help fund KSCC and our sections who provide manpower to run these events. The building was used by a number of the sports clubs to hold events, such as the Cricket club presidents day and end of season celebrations as well as race nights etc.
